Fig & Olive

making a reservation. My girlfriends and I had our holiday dinner there because we love the food. The meat, the cheese, and the olive oils...the list goes on and on. The 2 complaints we have with this place are the slow service and the loud atmosphere. Our dinner reservation was at 9pm on a Friday night but we didn't get seated until 45 mins later. It took another 20 mins for us to order. We had our appetizers not too long after we ordered but our main course did not get served until 11pm. Thank goodness we did not have to be anywhere after dinner. Also if you're planning to go there to catch up with friends, don't bother. There were only 6 of us at dinner and we could not hear each other talk; I barely heard my friend who sat next to me. Like I said before, the food was the only reason why we decided to have our holiday dinner here. If you really like a specific olive oil, I recommend you to buy a bottle and bring it home.

How can you go wrong with olives, cheese and figs? Seriously one of the best meals I've had in a while. Definitely try the berries and cream dessert. Yum!

If you want to be able to hear yourself think, do not come to this restaurant. The design of this restaurant is very cool, but the music was so loud that the experience was unpleasant. The food was decent, however, the presentation overshadowed any culinary value. All of our dishes were delivered at one time (regardless of course) and this was before our bottle of wine arrived. One of the orders was wrong on top of everything. In general, the blaring music and poor service ruined our experience and made us believe the dinner not worth the moderately expensive pricing.

The table was ready on time and the wait staff was eagerly attentive. While the signature salad didn't live up to expectations (too much of a green onion taste), the sole en papillote was succulent and light and just perfect with a little olive oil and sea salt. The side of mashed potatoes was almost not elegant enough and would have been better with polenta. There were a couple of hiccups - appetizers brought before a tapa was done coupled with the too small table make the first course uncomfortable. Overall, though, a good place for a girl's night out, but not a romantic dinner for two.

I am glad I didn't read some of these reviews before I decided to eat here. We were walking by, thought the place looked nice and sat at one of the bar tables. Our service was excellent, I think there were 3 people looking after us. The food was superb, my shrimp pasta dish was packed with flavor and my husband's steak was amazing, cooked just right and charred like it was made on the BBQ. We are definetly going back.
