Ordered on-line and the food was not good at all....soggy vegetables, unfresh salad, and meat was bland.

5th Ave Epicure is so close to my office it's nearly impossible not to go there at least once a week - food is always good. I LOVE the soup man - so pleasant and friendly - he could teach the rest of the staff a thing or two about customer service. It never fails - every time I go to pay I get a casher with the BIGGEST attitude - as if I'm imposing on their day! I get rolls of eyes, or just no communication at all. They put me in a fowl mood every time I leave. Last time I checked it was the customers who kept those cashiers employed!

There is no other day brightener than a food attendant really loving his job. That is what I get from The Fifth Avenue Epicure - good soup from the most wonderful soup preparer/server in this entire city. He really cares about what you order and makes sure that you are extremely happy with it by dolling out multiple samples of the daily soup menu until you find what you are looking for. Also, his simple "hi, how are you today" goes such a long way. I go there for him, you'll know who he is when you go to the soup station.

The food here is ok, but there are some people that work the food stations and register that are unpleasantI was ordering a salad, and this one person didn't want to wait on me, then told the other person working with her to give me a half-used, open salad container...when I asked for one that had not been sitting out and was full, she rolled her eyes and told me i was being difficult. the food or value isn't that great to warrant that type of attitude.

I eat here everyday and have never been disappointed. Their soups are stupendous and the roast beef panini is perfection. The staff is always friendly (unless its time to close) and the price is good for the area.

I consider myself a very nice and patient person. All I wanted was to treat myself to a scoop of Uncle Luigi ice. I walked to the ice cart in the rear of the store and waited for a server to show up. When someone did, he said I had to see the cashier first (I assume I had to pay before ordering?). I went to the cashier who was quite oblivious. First she helped someone else, although I was there first. When I told her I wanted to order an ice, she seemed completely oblivious as to what I was talking about, then asked her co-worker for help. Her co-worker did not understand what I was talking about either, so I explained that the server in the back had sent me to her when I wanted to order. They were still confused, so they called another server at a nearby counter for help. All he did was turn to me and say that I shouldn't be talking to him about it because he didn't work with the ices! I told him repeatedly I wasn't the one who had called him for help, but that didn't sink in with him. The cashier then turned to the next person to help them. Astounded, I said, "Please, can you help me with the ice???" She smiled and continued to look confused. Realizing the ice wasn't worth all this work, I left. I don't exactly blame the cashier for her lack of understanding of English, but I do blame the owner and manager, who hired her to be in that position. Also I blame the male employee with the rude and unhelpful attitude. I will NEVER go back.

Went there expecting a regular deli. I was very surprised. The quality of the food looked good. The people were all very nice. The breakfasts are awesome! This is my new breakfast and lunch spot
