    great neighborhood place

I was looking for a neighborhood restaurant with a varied choice for vegetarians, reasonably priced, clean, friendly atmosphere -and we definitely found it all here at Fiat Cafe. I had looked at the reviews and thought the place would be worth trying: we weren't disappointed! The food was fresh, the portions were generous and the prices incredible! The staff was very friendly. We shared the bruschetta crostini, my daughter had the omelet with goat cheese and spinach with fresh salad on the side, she loved it! I had the cavatelli with broccoli di rabe and hard ricotta - it was very good, although the broccoli rabe was a little too cooked and the dish somewhat dry, the flavors were great. We enjoyed the entire experience and will definitively return!

    i peep their game...

aHA. this is one of those places that uses excellence and generous portions to manipulate you into customer loyalty. correction: this is the last of those places. our second order was just as wtf good as the first. interesting dishes done with freshness and expertise. prices that will make you weepy with gratitude. soon to be overheard in your inner monologue: 'i can't believe this panini was only 6 bucks. finally, a good salad in this town. thank god we got dessert.'

    Fantastic reasonable surprise in NYC

Very impressed with the variety in the menu and the overall service and food- very cosy and comfortable- wish we had eaten all our meals here during our visit- we will certainly be back on our next trip to the city.

    Amazing

I hesitate o gush because if this tiny place got too busy and there were no seats for me, I would freak. The pasta is perfectly al dente and crazy-delicious and CHEAP and a bottle of yummy wine is only $18.00. It's like an Italian restaurant in the 70s...

Best espresso in the city. Love this place.

Try the shakarato's, they are spectacular!! I can't get them anywhere else, thats why I'm here all the time! The food is great too; great ingredients and simple and elegant structure. Try the roasted veggie sandwich with goat cheese. always worth the travel time.

Every 'Hood needs a FIAT CAFE!!

SHHHH – don’t tell anyone about this place. Seriously I haven’t seen prices this low in 10 years in NYC. Every neighborhood needs a FIAT café. The food was really good, and generous portions for the price. We stopped by around 4pm midweek, had the seafood salad full of shrimp and calamari in a light vinaigrette (almost like Ceviche). The seafood was fresh, good flavor, chock full ‘o shrimp and a very generous portion for $7.50; perfect on a hot August day. Also had the Cheese plate which was SIX varieties of cheese and more than enough for 2 people - $7 for the plate. The waitress noted that the place is very crowded for dinner (if this was in my ‘hood I would eat here 4 nites a week). The guy to my left said the linguini and Clams was excellent also about $8. The combination of good food, gentle prices, casual dining and oh, yeah, BYOB will hopefully keep FIAT busy for a long time. SHHHH don’t tell anyone.
