Felidia

We had been to this restaurant once before and had a great time. The food was amazing and the service was great. However we went back recently we a larger group and found that the restaurant's quality and service was no where near the same. We had a really nice table upstairs underneath the skylights. Unfortunately it was near the service area where two waiters began arguing with one another. It was so loud our waiter couldn't even take our order over the volume. Twice throughout the meal our waiter had to go over to them to settle things down and it still continued even after that. The food which was once amazing was less than par. Overall it would have been just okay if the prices weren't as high as they are. We were expecting a gourmet meal when all we got was mediocre italian food.

My wife and I and two life-long friends visiting from CA went there for lunch on Thursday. To start, the menu was very limited. Everything was way over-priced and the portions were small. My wife was the only one who was pleased with the taste of her meal. We paid $148 with one bottle of wine for a meal for four, not a good value. I'll never recommend this place to anyone.

I came here last weekend with friends visiting from out of state. I decided to try Felidia, because of how much everyone loves Lidia's recipes as well as her show. And I am so happy I did. The food was one of the best Italian meals I have had in manhattan. With a combination of authentic and traditional dishes like roasted calf's liver, and chicken breast with tomato sauce, mozzarella, and spinach, there is something for everyone to enjoy. My friends loved it, and I was thrilled to have found such a great restaurant to add to my list.

I understand that people may find this place expensive but the quality of the Italian food is unmatched in the Mid and upper east. Your not going to get an over abundance of food but every dish they serve is smashing! The only comp in the city although a little more livery and tripie is Babbo. Go for the lunch so you can try it out and spend a little less dough, enjoy the experience.

I had a business lunch here and it was a perfect choice. The ambiance was nice and colorful, wasn't sure what I was walking into at first from the outside, but it was really inviting once inside, especially upstairs with the natural light. The lunch special was really tasty. I had the pear and pecorino ravioli which was simply delicious flavors, and the chicken with spinach and mozzarella. It was simple and light and enjoyable. It's a bit pricy for lunch, but it was a nice splurge. And the service was great, didn't even have to think about it.

Had reservations for a special occasion, Service was poor, food was less than mediocre. If you are in the mood for Italian a local pizza store is the equal to this overrated restaurant

I have no idea where all of these bad reviews are coming from. I have dined at Felidia's about five times a year for quite a while now, and have yet to experience any problems with the waitstaff or the food. If you want to go out for spaghetti and meatballs in jeans and a tshirt this is not the place... They abide by the European way of eating, meals are SUPPOSED to take two or more hours at Felidia's. The servers' attitudes probably come from having a table of people who are ill prepared to spend 20+ on an appetizer and expect their meals to be out in five minutes. I highly recommend Felidia's, it is a fantastic restaurant, both in terms of food, ambiance, and waitstaff
