Felice Ristorante & Wine Bar

The only part of my weekend dinner that I liked was the glass of rose wine. Good choice! The service was so so, not a high class that would impress you and invite you to come back, but reasonable. In terms of food, I decided to give Felice a second chance after having dinner at 64th Street location last year. I was disappointed last year (expected better quality Italian dish given the décor of the restaurant) but the 83rd Street was not good. My oily pasta dish was subpar (I swear I can make a better pasta meal) and my husband’s breaded chicken plate (with a few green leaves and 2 small tomatoes) for $23 was not only unappetizing but not worth the price at all – a robbery in a daylight. If you want a good pasta meal, one of the local pizza places in the neighborhood can serve a better meal. Do not recommend Felice at all. What surprises me is the fact that the restaurant is quite busy every night. I wonder if we picked the wrong meals, wrong night (maybe the other chef – if there is another one- is better) or Upper Eastsiders don’t have much more of a choice or … there is something wrong with their taste buds!

Thought I'd try the large Felice, am used to going to 64th & 1st. So sorry I wasted a Saturday night. My husband's meal (one of the specials) was good, but my pasta was some of the poorest I've ever tasted. This has never happened at the smaller Felice on 64th Street. Love the food there. Also, had a slightly impatient waitress. She gave me a bit of a hard time when ordering, something I haven't experienced in a long time. Will not be going back again.

Boy am I glad that Felice opened another outpost further uptown. The food is absolutely delish as is the Felice wine. I highly recommend this place. The vibe is good but casual (much needed on the UES!). I must admit that some of the service is still a little spotty. The owner is great, but there is one waitress who is rude and unprofessional (she yelled at a busboy right in front of us for pouring water while she was talking!), but I'm sure this will fix itself with time.

Food and Service where excellent. The ony problem was the Portion size was a little small for the price we paid.

We had a late lunch here on a Sunday and it was really very good. Everything. Two had the Hamburger (weren't in the mood for Italian) and it was amazingly good. A combination of short ribs and brisket - a unique taste, with mozzarella and bacon, and the fries were very good and not a crazy big portion. Just enough. One of us had the cavatelli with veal ragu - which was excellent. I will definitely return to try their other innovative dishes and am very glad to have them in the neighborhood.

Went here on Sat. the 27th while the city was in a frenzy getting ready for Hurricane Irene. Was so happy they were open and had an amazing late brunch! Everything we ate (crostone, salad and pasta) was just excellent and perfectly prepared with obviously very high quality ingredients. The bread basket is excellent too! My only complaint has nothing to do with the food or service - - the buttons on some of their tufted leather chair covers are falling off already, that seems like a poor design choice. Overall, very pleased that they are 2 blocks away from where I live and I will be going back a lot!! Cheers!
