30 minute wait for soup!
My colleague and I stopped by for lunch today after hearing great review of the food. We both ordered soup. It took 20 minutes for it to arrive - and mine was given to me cold. I had to wait another 10 minutes for the soup to be heated - and I could see the kitchen from where we sat. Although the soup was very good, the taste cannot compensate for the long wait. May give this a place another try, but for dinner when I'm not in such a hurry.

great dinner
went with a few friends for dinner on a surprisingly calm sat night. they dont take reservations but were nice enough to hold a table for us after we called. other reviews are right, food is great but takes a little while to come out. good service, great desserts... byob! cant beat it.

my new favorite place
I went to Falai the other day for my birthday and it was fabulous! The restaurant is small, but super cute. The servers were really friendly, and of course, you cannot beat the fact it's BYOB. I am definietly coming back soon!

Cramped, cozy cafe still pleases!
Went for a dinner on a Sunday night, enjoyed a variety of tapas dishes recommended by the friendly waitress who seemed to know every ingredient in every dish (Im allergic to some weird things, so she saved me a lot of trouble) Food arrived quickly and was just as good as described. Awesome dessert selection, but seemed a little sold out (busy brunch I guess?) Brought my own wine and saved a bundle... they only accept AMEX though, so I had to make a run to the ATM.

Best bread in the neighborhood
I love this place! I stop by at least three times a week for a loaf of bread! It's a great little place. I also enjoy the salads w/ roast chicken and the "baked eggs" for brunch. It's BYOB for dinner. I feel like I'm in Italy every time I step in the place. Love it!

No Place Like It!
I don't understand why Falai is getting any bad reviews! I've never had any issues with this place. The food and atmosphere are great, as well as the service! As we frequent it regularly now, the staff recognizes us whenever we stop by and is very attentive and helpful with decision-making, which is so hard when there's so much to choose from and everything is so delicious!! There's always a new and interesting special for dinner along with my favorites, the polenta, veal meatballs, and tomatoe soup with farro.. I highly recommend making your way down to the Lower Eastside, if for nothing else, to check out this restaurant. Just wanted to put the word out there!
