Inexpensive and OK food
If you work, live, or go to school in the area you have almost certainly been to Falafel Express. The food is just OK - there are many better examples of falafel in Manhattan - but it's difficult to beat the convenience. The guys who run the place are amicable and occasionally give me a free bottle of water or some such with my order. This place isn't worth extra effort to go to but it's not a bad quick lunch option.

best cheap place
Best cheapest falafel in town. Amazing food esp when eaten hot. Very friendly service as well. Highly recommended.

cheap? yes. good value? not always
Not the best quality food, but not bad. at least that goes for the falafel sandwich, which is usually at least just above average. The first time i tried anything it was the chicken or shish kabab platter and I really didn't think it was particularly good. The hummus is pretty average too, for someone who likes it creamier. The food was also delivered in a generic styrofoam container, which is not the most appetizing platter to eat out of. As someone who used to live in North London where i used to frequent a local, cheap, middle eastern spot at least once a week for a chicken kebab craving d by me trying it once I have a hard time praising Falafel Express too strongly. It's inexpensive and can provide an alternative to most other cheap eats like Chinese, Pizza, etc. If you don't want to spend and are really tired of the usual options it's ok, but I wouldn't expect one too be greatly satisfied.

Food is Good...When Available!!
I have into into this hole-in-the-wall many times, and it's always a crap shoot. Today was the final straw for me I walked in to order the Fatoosh salad and was told they were out. I then order the Kefta and was told they were outwhile laughing at my obvious frustration. This would be acceptable if it were the first time but it's not. This happens 3 out 5 times. The food is good BUT not great and the inconsistency just isn't worth the hassel.
