Ambiance and good food
I have been to Filli Ponte's 4 or 5 times and always look forward to another reason to go. I love the ambiance, the food and the service. It's fun with the family and also romantic when it's just the two of us. A little pricey, but well worth the experience!

So not worth It !
Very disappointing. The 1st floor is empty, which was very creepy, upstairs decor is nice, but the food was less than pedestrian and hugely expensive ($14.00 glass of wine,- dinner for 4 was $260.00 and 1 person only had an appetizer) which probably accounts for it being less than 1/2 full on what should be a busy night, not worth the trip west . There are better places to go for "old New York" .

i love this place
My wife brought me here for a celebration dinner awhile back, I love this place! From the old school decor, to the upstairs jazz room. Start to finish this is a place to try. Wonderful food, portions are hearty and service is top notch. We live in Tribeca and I've since brought several people here-we are all in agreement; You want old NYC? Come here!

Very good
I went here last year and it was very good.but it was not excellent though. the upstairs is very nice. it has a nice bar and very big party room. plus there is free parking across the street only for ponti customers and it is never full. you have a great view of the hudson river.the building is very old about 100 years old. overall i would recomend it 80%.

Be Careful, Overpriced
Went here for Valentines day but like all other patrons at the restaurant didn't know there was a special Valentines day menu. It was never mentioned when reservations were made. Basically 3 courses - choice of 3 of their apps/salads, an entree and dessert for twice the price. There was an additional $40 charge on top of the prix fix for their special "angry lobster." It is too bad, the atmosphere was great and big ...

Keeping it Old School
Just the the cheese and eggplant alone had me...This is the place to bring a girl who knows her food, even though this place is known for their steaks and lobsters...the pasta is better here than anywhere.

You never had a lobster like this
We have been coming to this restaurant over the past few years and I come there for 1 thing only -- the ANGRY LOBSTER. I sometimes crave it. I usually do not order lobsters in restaurants because, if it's super fresh, a lobster is the same everywhere. But not in Ponte's. It's an experience of sensations that just satisfies on every level. They chop it up and fry it with garlic, basil, and red pepper flakes. Since the restaurant is so big, it's a great place if you need a last minute reservation for a large group of people.
