A group of seven of my friends visited "Extra Virgin" for the first time in May 2006 to celebrate my birthday. Very professional staff, and highest marks for our waitress for such excellent service and information. Although she had other tables, we felt like we were the only ones in the restaurant. I would definetely return and take other out of town guests.

Well I must say I was unimpressed with a number of things here. Most of all the inconsistency of the entire experience. The staff seemed to not want to be bothered with being there at all. The salad and appetizers are probably your best bet should you decide to have something to eat after a couple of drinks at this "beat" bar. The greek salad was very fresh, crisp and tasty, but unfortuntately was followed by some entrees that just could not hold up to my opinion of nyc standards. Strangely enough, the salmon dish was probably the best at our table. And for those that dine out a lot, chicken and salmon are the things you tend to stay clear from if you want to tantalize your pallate...but here, go with it! It was fresh and the sauce was quite nice. The hangar steak au poive.....stay away. It was basically a huge plate of fries with roughly 5 bites worth of steak drifting on the side of the plate. Fries were pretty impressive, but if you are in the mood for substance, steer clear of this one. And after spending too much money on this meal, the staff was giving us these hints that they wanted us up to turn the table....yet there was nobody waiting. Hmmm.

This restaurant is outstanding and the food is delicious everytime! I have eaten there too many times to count. I'm so excited my favorite restaurant is open for lunch now too!

Extra Virgin is always consistent with their service and food. I have never been disappointed and look forward to eating there! Some of the best food I have ever eaten! Worth the wait on Thurs- Sat.

I just visited Extra Virgin for the second time last week and the food was some of the tastiest I've had in NYC. Our waitress was knowledgeable, but seemed somewhat distracted. I love the intimate quarters and the atmosphere is always vibrant. My fiance and I first tried EV as NYC newbies back in Sept. '05. We were seated outside and it made for a truly romantic experience. EV is a perfect off-the-map spot for a date or a nice spot to take visitors for a true NYC small restaurant experience. It's great too, because no entree is over $20. I'll surely be back.

this was a sunday night, everything in the hood is closed (i.e. Pearl O.B., Mary's etc) and we wandered over to Extra Virgin. The menu is all over the place (greek salad and a caesar salad (mediocre); spaghetti and meatballs special but 5 out of the 7 entrees are fish - and none done in any "italian" sort of way). I had a decent piece of halibut. The dessert was excellent. the whole experience was "eh"

The food at extra virgin is absolutely amazing. This resturant has become one of my favorites in the city.
