I have been going to Evergreen for the last 7 years. The food has always been delicious and plentiful. The atmosphere is relaxing and warm. The best part of every visit there was having the host greet my co-workers and me at the door and take care of our every need. He knows all his customers by name and is so welcoming that you have to keep coming back. I should add that he makes a mean margarita as well!

Food was very good. Went to lunch with large group of co-workers. Had made reservations and was quickly led to a large round table. Had to wait a long time for someone to come refill our tea pots. Had trouble getting staff's attention as it was very busy and they were running around. We were noisy and rowdy - which was fine because that's what the atmosphere felt like. Overall, a fun place for a large group get together and when time is not an issue.

I have had many experiences hosting Chinese visiters and being hosted by Chinese at this restaurant. Many Chinese have told me this is a very good Shanghai-style restaurant by U.S. standards. As a frequent visiter to Shanghai, I agree.

The food was awesome, I love shrimp fried rice and this one actually has more than 4 shrimps! Not only that,. but the rice is not greasy and they give you a nice big portion. You definitely get what you pay for. Evergreen cuisine rocks!

The other review..."pay for what you get is right." The food is either too salty, spicy and mushy. The ingredients they give you for the food is poor. There are other more notable authentic chinese cuisine available in the area where the value is much better.

Never ate at the actual restaurant, but order for delivery often. Tends to be a bit pricey, but it is hands down the best Chinese in Murray Hill area. I know I hate Chinese places that look all shady and dirty, and you don't have to worry about that with this place. Again, can bust your wallet a bit, but you pay for what you get.

Agree with below about the food part but not the service. They often mix up take out orders (happened twice already) but never apologizes for the inconvenience they've caused me. I had to wait 45 minutes yesterday for the right food to come out and moreover when I asked for an apology, the lady on the counter refused to do so and insisted that it was my fault. It used to be one of my favorite spot but I'm not going there again.
