Will Not Be Back
None of the tapas we ordered was great. 2 of the 5 were just OK. Desserts were nothing special either. And ambiance: Too close to other tables for private conversation & impossible to get out without disrupting diners on either side. We could have had a more delicious meal elsewhere for about 1/4 what it cost here! Waitress was very nice though...

Ole!!
We had a really lovely dinner last night at Euzkadi. The tapas we ordered were very traditional (patatas bravas, chorizo, spinach with pine nuts and raisins), although they do have some more innovative dishes. But our choices were beyond well-made, they were just the best I have had in NYC. And the portions are huge, from a tapas point of view. So, while the prices are far from low, I give Euzkadi a high value rating; you can pig out with a friend on three tapas and still get out for a reasonable price. Very nice service, too. Highly recommended.

Good tapas, surprising band fee
For the food, it's quite good. try the honey goat cheese croquettes, foie gras, and tortilla. The ham croquettes are so-so. Tortilla and the shrimp dish are quite nice too. The only downside is this -- Tuesdays, Euzkadi has started a policy of charging guests for the flamenco band. They will call it "tips" and take 10% surcharge on your overall bill. I've never been charged for entertainmt in a restaurant. The live music is there to entice patrons to dine there. When I saw the bill,i complained to the waiter, who said the charge was stated in the menu. I could hardly read the menu in the dim light to begin with and had to use a candle to peruse the menu. [ i did not bother to read the whole menu because i was reading by candlelight. Would you do the same? ]The band itself is good, but i've not experienced having to pay "tips" while dining and they should make it more obvious when you enter. At music venues, they put on the table stands very obvious signs for a 1-2 drink minimum and you know what you are getting when you sit down. And i've witnessed tip buckets being passed around which I can be ok with depending on circumstances. But this mandatory tip left a bad taste in my mouth. I'll be back to Euzkadi for food, but not for Tuesday flamenco nights.

New Favorite Tapas Spot
Has all three elements that you would look for in an East Vil tapas restaurant - good food, great service and awesome atmosphere. The dishes are a little pricy for the area but not too outrageous. But Euzkadi is worth it. The staff is extremely friendly (even when they're busy) and I've had a great experience every time I've been there. I highly recommend the Chipirones a la Brasa and Albondigas de Pato.

Familiar friendly service, excellent food
From my phone reservation in the morning to the manager recognizing my name when I came in, everything was great. We had the manager, who worked the phones, door, guests and bar also choose our wine and one of our tapas. We had a wonderful time and loved the food, especially the scallops. Please try this place and support this fantastic cuisine in my neighborhood.

Excellent food, good service, sexy atmosphere
My wife and I recently had our anniversay dinner at Euzkadi and we both came away very pleased. We ordered a salad and six tapas for the two of us, which may have been one plate too many. The duck meatballs were incredible, and my wife loved the goat cheese croquettes. The pork loin was a little bland in my opinion, though my wife liked it. The service was really good, and really friendly (even though we were a bit late for our reservation). My water glass was always quickly refilled, they cleared the empty tapas plates right away so we had more space, and our waiter seemed to be in a great mood. FYI- The restaurant is a bit tight on space, so you will basically being sharing dinner convo with strangers, but it's NYC and that always happens. Also, it was a little warm in the restaurant, so maybe dress in layers you can take off. All in all we had a great dinner, and the check wasn't too bad either.

If you can't take the heat. . . .
Although the food is good and the atmosphere is pleasant- this restaurant to get a lesson from Gordon Ramsay re strcuture. the kitchen failed to fill the order of the couple sitting next to us. The waitner said -- you are just not getting the tapas you ordered-- Really. It took 45 minutes for us to get our order- after another table sat down and ordered after us. When you are that disorganized you offer something to your guests other than "you just are not getting it."
