    Smoking Hot

The live music on Teusdays is orgasmic. It feels like you are sitting on a stoop somewhere in Spain with the Flamenca artists that play on the streets there. Rather, you are in a cozy booth with some hearty tapas and an ambiance that resembles more of a cave than a stoop. Bring a date here if you are looking to score to romance points! Also, must try the fried goat cheese with honey....

    Love It.

I've been to so many tapas restaurants around the city... and I've also been to a few in the Basque region. If you want a real Basque ambiance and a few pretty great dishes, check this place out. Not every dish is outstanding, but most are excellent and there is enough variety to fulfill your cravings. The waitress gave us some great recs as well. Goat Cheese fried with honey and Octupus Salad! There was also live flamenca band playing, very cool.

    Not good

Had high hopes for this restaurant, but instead got food that tasted old, off, and odd. There was nothing delicious. The tapas, including the Pintxo De Aguacate didn't taste like avocado and feta, but had a sour and insipid quality. The Tortilla Vasca was old and had no flavor. The only good things were the wine, the music, and the fun ambiance. What wasn't fun was that I got sick after eating here last night. Skip it, spend the money and go to Tia Pol.

    que bueno!

What a wonderful find on an unassuming street. Delicious tapas--the goat cheese and honey balls were divine. Strong and tasty sangria. Fun, lively atmosphere. And a great deal if you get the prix-fixe on weekday evenings!

    Go Tuesday Night- Live Flamenco!

We loved this place. Everything we ordered was either good or outstanding- grilled octopus, goat cheese croquettes, paquetitos, mushrooms w/ almonds, shrimp stuffed with rosemary goat cheese- except the duck meatballs which tasted like chef boyardee. Also, the sangria was standard, not exceptional. The male server was not very friendly BUT surprised us later on with free sangria and complimetary dessert wine. The flamenco band was an especially nice touch; everyone enjoyed and it made the night very festive. I have already recommended this place to many friends.

    Excellent Place for Parties!

Wow, where do I start? I had my 30th birthday bash here this year... what a night! About 20 of my friends and I took up a large section of the restaurant where we ate, drank, and danced, danced, danced. The tapas were incomprable to any other tapas place in NY. There was a wide variety of simple, but exotic seafood, meats, cheese and vegetarian dishes so pretty much everyone was pleased. Generous portions too. My favorite probably has to go to the pintxo de setas y jamon... the mushroom and serano ham dish with aioli sauce! Also... the goat cheese balls, to die for! We had several pitchers of the Sangria which was strong, fruity and flavorful... not too sweet. You must try if you go! Service was excellent... there were two very sweet waiters helping us. The food all came in a timely manner. Two of my guests were from Spain and they were able to make all their requests in Spanish to one of the waiters. The music was great through out the night and once we finished eating, they played a bunch of dance music so we stayed for a few more hours! Overall great ambience, food, fun staff and music which made for a truly authentic Basque experience. I would recommend this to anyone looking to throw a casual, but fun party at a decent price. They also do private parties, but we didn't have enough guests to take up the whole place!

    A cute place

Wow. We took an out of town guest here on a whim on a Friday evening. I had never been here before, but my girlfriend had been many years ago. We arrived sans reservations but the manager was happy to accomodate us after a few minutes. We sipped on tasty sangria and kalimocho (red wine mixed with coca cola) at the bar while we waited. The dishes we ordered were all off the tapas menu and every single one was a delectable treat. The portions aren't meager either, very ample portions for tapas. Next time I come back I hope to sample some of the main dishes. I'm looking forward to my next visit.
