best greek food in Manhattan
The appetizers here are very tasty, and there are tons of vegetarian options. You get a free (very tasty) dessert if you hang around and look hesitant to leave

Great place in midtown east
I have gone to ethos on multiple occasions. It ranks in my top 10 NYC restaurants. Characteristic of popular NYC restaurants, it can be busy and there is a small wait--which is absolutely worth it, considering the value you are getting for your money and time.

Not all that...
My husband and I were craving some good greek food and stumbled on Ethos. Have to say, the food was not all that -- the classic greek salad was missing some key ingredients, and the tomato sauce in the lamb with orzo distinctly reminded us of Chef Boyardee! Disappointing to say the least!

Superb
This is an awesome Greek restaurant! I absolutely love the grilled octopus salad. They are very large so you can split it with someone and also order an appetizer. This fish is delicious and all the appetizers are really wonderful! I continually go here and have never been disappointed. They also give you a free dessert on most nights! What a treat!

Booking for a Saturday night seemed the obvious thing to do, so I did for 8.30. On arrival we were told it would be 5-10 minutes, OK, however at 9.10, 40 minutes later with no apology, enough was enough. The food may be great but when I went to see the owner a few days later he really didn't care. I suggested he stop taking bookings at weekends but all he cared about was the quality of the food, he wasn't bothered by anyone waiting 40 minutes & then leaving. I think he needs to deliberate a little more on that issue, it's hardly the only restaurant in town & there is a line which shouldn't be crossed.

Great Greek in Murray Hill
I went here with a group of friends for my birthday and everything we ordered was very tasty. We started with the tsatziki and an order of spanakopita. Both were very good and I might go so far as to say that the tsatziki was the best I have had. Then between the 6 of us we ordered bronzini, orata, xifias (swordfish), a gigantic greek salad, and one of the garides (shrimp dishes). Everything was great, although the service was a tad slow. At the end of the meal we were even given a free dessert!
