Do not order from here
While the food is really good, they will get your order wrong and it will arrive late and cold. This seems to be consistent with the reviews below. I have ordered from here twice and it has been the same both times.

Never got it right!
We ordered New Years Eve dinner from Ethos last night, which arrived about an hour after we ordered (fine). Only problem was that the food that came included nothing of what we ordered. About 5 minutes later without us calling the restaurant a different delivery guy showed up from Ethos with another bag of food, so we assumed that they messed up and brought us the correct order (we were wrong). They sent more food, which was again nothing of what we ordered. I called the restaurant to let them know that they twice delivered us food, which was not what we ordered. The gentleman on the phone was very apologetic and told me that the kitchen was closed, and instructed me to call in the morning and they will send me a refund (great) Following direction, I called first thing this morning and was told that the manager would not be in until 6pm, and that I should come in then to get a refund (no longer were they going to send someone to bring the refund to me). Already annoyed by the run around, I proceeded to schlep to the restaurant arriving there shortly after 6 to be told that the manager will not be there for several more hours. I requested that one of the staff call him and have him give permission for one of the staff to issue me my refund. They called him and told me that they would issue me a store credit, which was absolutely unacceptable, and to top that I would have to come pick it up in a day or two. Since this was the first time (and last time) we’ve every ordered food from this place, a store credit was completely unacceptable, and it is completely unreasonable for this place to think that it’s OK to mess up our order, not send us a replacement, and then offer us a store credit

Never Again!
We eat out once a week at various restaurants and decided to try Ethos. Everything was fine until we received our main course. We both ordered fish. I started on my meal only to get a mouthful of sharp bones from the fish. After picking the 2 inch bones out of my mouth I figured I'd try another piece of the fish just to see and yes, more bones. I checked the rest og the fish - sharp bones everywhere. I couldnt believe it. I pushed the plate aside and told the waitress....who tried to tell me that the fish is a filet (no kidding) and to take all the bones out the chef would have to pull them out with his hands and touch my food. I said there's bones everywhere! Anyway, she took the plate away and apologized. I chewed on a piece of bread while my girlfriend ate her meal (also with bones but only a few). They didn't charge me for my meal or the 2 sides so they did the right thing but I could never go back. Very bad experience! Smarten up Ethos...

Three Strikes, You're Out
Last night a few friends and I dined at the sister restaurant of one of our favorite standbys in Murray Hill for the first, and definitely, last time. I am a fan of surprises, but not in the form of a long piece of dry onion peel in my salad that didn't have onions in it, a hard piece of shrimp tail in my friend's salad (that did not include shrimp), and dressing soaking up the bowl of my other friend's meal when she asked for dressing on the side. The best part of the night was the waiter telling us that the shiny oil she saw in her dish was actually "juice from the tomatoes" as he stuck his face in her plate and used her fork to push the food around in demonstration instead of apologizing and bringing her another entree. I guess they don't know the meaning of "the customer is always right." The real kicker came with the check which charged us for the dressing-laden salad twice - instead of just once! They final surprise came when they charged $10 to add 2 pieces of shrimp to a salad. Needless to say, the iffy food and service made for a sub-par dining experience!

Great greek food - horrible service
What can I say? I have a love/ hate relationship with Ethos. I LOVE their food but the service in the restaurant is horrible and to order delivery takes 45 - 60 minutes EVERY time. Food is also overpriced and their add ons are ridiculous - extra dressing (1.50) chicken on a salad ($9!) . Good spot but they've got to step up their game.

good food, bad service and bad attitude
although the food was great, small portions, but worth it, the service was herendous. It took almost 1/2 to serve us lemons, which was requested when we were first seated. Waitress was nice at first and now the story begins. It took a long time for food and was told we ordered to much, we had to order more. When we asked for more coffee (note there were empty tables) the waitness actually rolled her eyes, yes she rolled her eyes. When we wanted to pay, waitness no where in sight, tried to give to hostess, and she said "not my job" After 15 minutes, again yes 15 minutes of holding the check up, finally the owner/manager took our money. Although the food was great, would not recommend or go back again.

Exceeded our expectations!
We took our son and daughter-in-law for his 40th birthday. Older crowd made us suspicious. No way! The food could hardly be better. The service was pleasant, polite, attentive and friendly. Food showed up promptly and used dishes vanished. Not inexpensive, but worth it any day. p.s. The place was full on a Tuesday July night.
