Great local spot
Each time we go to Ethos we feel happy. The food is generous, fresh and wonderful, the service attentive and caring, and the atmosphere lovely. We love the grilled fish and it's perfect every time. They could use some help with the wines, however or BYO. Great local place and always busy. Highly recommended

mediocre food, slow service
I was excited to try this place, but the staff kept us waiting 45 minutes for a table and barely apologized. Once seated, it was another hour before we got our entrees. Again, no apology. Thankfully, they brought free dessert (delicious - but hardly worth a three hour wait). Still no apology. Not planning to go back anytime soon.

Great spot!
Replacing Meltemi was no easy task, but Ethos has done that with comparable food quality, an updated and enhance ambiance and terrific service! Great stuff.

Great Seafood, older crowd
We used to go to Ethos in Astoria and were disappointed when it closed. This was our first time to the Manhattan location and we were pleased to see the exact same menu. The setting was a little stuffy for our tastes and couldn't be more different from the queens vibe. The majority of the clientele was over 50 and it was packed on a Sunday night. Our server seemed overwhelmed and we had to ask for water refills and our dirty plates sat in front of us for awhile. Two entrees came out and the 3rd about 7 minutes later. The food was scrumptious! Whole fish, spinach, lamb kebob & swordfish. Our party of 4 spit the tsatziki & hummus appetizer. The restaurant gives you delicious olives and plenty of warm bread & pita when you are seated. A complimentary dessert of baklava & cheese in filo was a sweet ending surprise. All in all it was an enjoyable dinner but not our scene.

Great Food
Four of us enjoyed dinner on a very busy Sat night (get reservations for the weeken). Food was Excellent - Hummus and Spanakopita for appitizer, both good choices. We had Moussaka, seafood and pasta, chicken in clay pot, and baby lamb in clay pot. the lamb was a small portion all the other dishes were full size. Everything was great. Had a complimentary dessert - very nice touch. A little pricey but very nice time.

Great Food, Waiter Not So Great
Very Very good Food. My wife and I loved the food. I had roasted scungilli salad and lamb chops....Awesome. My wife had the chilean sea bass and said it was the best she has ever eaten. Over all great, just the waiter must have been in a bad mood, not personal at all. But I would recommend to anyone and will eat there again! Soon.

Good atmosphere, tasty food
This place is no exactly inexpensive, especially considering that it is a bit out of the way on the East Side. Still, the food makes up for it, they have a good [select]ion of wines (the reds being served in huge glasses that really stimulate your nostrils), and the bar makes for a nice atmosphere and a good place to hang around before dinner while waiting for friends or for a table to free up. Try the chicken baked in a clay pot, it's delicious.
