    Excellent!

I recently went with two friends for Sunday brunch. The food that we had was nothing short of top notch. The people who are critical need to understand that this is an Italian/Mediterranean not an Italian/American restaurant (no basic over cheesed pasta or cannoli here). Having recently been to Italy, I was very appreciative of this restaurant. The portions were very fairly priced for what was on the plate. And, the Valhrona chocolate cake is is must have. We split it because we were stuffed from our starter and main entrees. The wait staff was very attentive and friendly, and the place was nice and neat and clean. I guess there were no noise issues because of the time we were there and it wasn't totally packed. Give it a try!

    Wonderful!!

The food is exceptional and the cuisine is Northern Italian. The Risotto is very good as is the skirt steak and the signature veal ravioli. As for those who commented on the portion size, frankly the portions are just right!! If you want super sized then perhaps this isn't the place for you. There are other restaurants that offer family style dining and mass produced pasta and entrees....but that is NOT what Etcetera aspires to do! I have been there several times and the food and service are consistently excellent.

I would go back in a NY minute...

We ate here after a show. What a nice experience... The wait staff was attentive without being pesky, and the food was just lovely. The veal, raisin & amaretto filled ravioli, one of their signature dishes, was especially delicious, and I had one of the best skirt steaks I've had in years. Three of us ordered entirely different selections, and the only note of disappointment was one mediocre cookie used as decor on the pistachio creme brulee. I'll be going back to etc. etc.

    Good, not stand-out

Good food, nice atmosphere, nice staff - not too loud, and a nice place to go either for a date or with a couple friends. But as others have said, nothing about the place really stood out, and you can find restaurants in this price range that do. So I enjoyed eating there, but can't think of a good reason to go back when there are so many other options out there.

    Just OK

Nothing special, but a welcoming and friendly staff. Modern decor, trying to be hip, but not really pulling it off. With all the great Italian restaurants in town, and many in the West 40's, this one falls short. Food was OK, but I probably never would go back.

    Do not go there

We had a party of 20 people at this restaurant. No one liked the food at all. We tried almost every dish they offer, and none of it was either tasty or even close to the taste it suppose to have. I was especially disappointed by their "famous" mushroom risotto. Instead of risotto they serve you some sort of rice pudding (miniature portion) topped with 3 slices of mushrooms. It looked like a joke. The steak was two slices of a size of a tablespoon and burned. The portions are extremely small (not even come close to an Italian restaurant portions you usually expect to see). We wanted to order salad for everyone as an appetizer and the waitress proposed to order three portions for all 20 people. Naturally, we thought that the size of a portion was big enough for all 20 people to eat. When they brought the salad, it was a tomato filled with greens and feta cheese. Not only not enough for all 20 people, but also impossible to split. We were really frustrated with this service. On a positive note, the deserts were good-delicious and presented exotically.

    Great Pre-Theatre

Terrific for pre-theatre; good, varied menu with a very attentive wait staff. The complimentary home baked desserts were a perfect ending to a not to heavy, not too light fare. Not a rip off on the check, either. I recommend.
