the best meatballs
Not just your basic Italian. They really turn out very special dishes. The veal meatballs in a tomato sauce are out of this world!

Not so great
Ate here with my husband for a pre-theatre dinner. Lovely ambiance particularly for the usual Italian restaurants in the theatre area. Unfortunately, the food not so great. I ordered from the prix-fix and my husband ordered a la carte. We agreed our fish entrees were tasteless and overcooked. The bread and ice cream/sorbet combination for dessert were the best part of our meals.

Wonderful Service
Stopped in for a drink on my way home with a friend the other night. Exceptional service by our bartender, and everyone else was extremely nice as well. The atmosphere is wonderful...brightly lit (I agree with the reviewer below...I HATE dimly lit places with loud music!), and beautiful decor. I am definetely going back for dinner soon!!

Sub-Par Dinner
The atmosphere and service were both excellentfinally, a restaurant without the terribly dim, sleep-inducing lighting and loud techno music! We ordered some sides as starters, and those were creative and delicious (esp the mushrooms stuffed with goat cheese!). However, our entrees were creative, but mostly flavorless. The ravioli was like dumplings, and the risotto was good but not greatI could have made it in my own kitchen, and probably with a lot less butter. The chicken and fish dishes were uninspired. And the portion sizes were small for the quality and price. As such, I must disagree strongly with the reviewer who said that the meal reminded her of meals in Italynone of the care that goes into sauces and pastas in Italy were apparent in the dishes at Etc Etc. I wouldn't recommend it unless you were already in the area or if you wanted to go for a quick drink and side dishes.

Not the best experience
While Etcetera Etcetera has a great location near the theater district, I'd go elswhere in the future. Why? The tables are very close together which makes conversations in the noisy room difficult. The service while attentive is from many people - so you never get the impression that anyone is taking ownership of the service. At one point a man that was sitting with another table came over and asked us if we needed anything - we thought he was a customer. We also had a problem with the timing of food. We notified the staff that we needed to eat in 90 minutes as we had a show to attend at 8pm. We waited over an hour for our food to arrive and one of the meals was incorrect. One of our party had to eat his meal in 10 minutes so we could make the show. I don't recommend this restaurant if you are on a schedule. Just my opinion. We all have one so experience it yourself if you are curious.

Delicious
I've been here twice, both times the food and service have been very good. I do have to say that I do prefer the atmosphere of their sister restaurant ViceVersa. The menus are very similar, many of the same dishes. I will continue to go to both restaurants. I love them both! They have the best Pino Grigio.

Great Food, Great Service
i've been to this place numerous times -- each time, the service has been great (very attentive) and so has the food (veal ravioli, farfalle with lobster, salmon, asparagus and goat cheese ravioli, mushroom risotto, warm chocolate cake, hazelnut/chocolate mousse--all fabulous). it's def not your standard italian restaurant -- i highly recommend it!
