Previous reviews depict Estihana as a terrible, tasteless, almost offensive eatery. I did not find it to be as such. I do, however, think a diner should be fully aware of what to expect. If you do not keep Kosher, Esithana is not the place a true sushi lover should seek. While the food is edible, at some points even tasty, the feeling I got was inauthentic. When you read "spicy crunchy tuna" on the menu, one expects tempura flakes, not Rice Crispies (yes, the cereal) in their roll. Would I go back? Being a tried and true Japanese food lover, probably not. If I kept Kosher, I would consider. As for the decor and service, nothing to write home about.

This place has the worst customer service of any kosher restaurant in New York. It doesn't matter if they screw up your order or if you ordered and it takes 2 hours to get your food, they will never compensate you in any way. Not only that, but the management is very rude and will argue with you if you dare to express any problems. A thoroughly stressful experience, we deserve better service.

The Sushi is good, the Chinese is good, it's good. If you're looking for five star, look elsewhere, however I've eaten here many times and have been satisfied by the selection, the service, and the quality of almost everything I've had.

I have been to Estihana before and had an ok time, the service was never great, the food was ok. However, tonight my husband and I, in the hopes of having a nice night in, ordered from Estihana. He got mahi mahi and said it was fine. I ordered 2 rolls of mushroom sushi. What was delivered was the smallest pieces of sushi I have ever seen. It was not inside out, and was all rice with one small piece of mushroom. When we called the restaraunt, the hostess had all kinds of excuses and was not apologetic in any way. I will not be going to Estihana again, and I suggest that if you plan on going to Estihana, don't order sushi, and don't even THINK about complaining, because in this establishment, the customer is never right.

This is just a great restaurant! The food was outstanding. I got the salmon roll and an appetizer. My friend's food was excellent too. I had a bite, and I had to have another. Some of the best sushi I've had in a while. The service did leave something to be desired, but this is new york, so get used to it. I'll be back!

I love Estihana. i go there all the time and the food is consistantly superb, the service is great and the prices are reasonable.

the food is subpar, their fish menu consists of a total of 5 dishes, most of them tuna, the portion are minimal, the waiters rude, the prices were reasonable, but considering the rude service and unpalatable food, any price would be outrageous.
