Milos used to be one of my favorite restaurants in nyc despite the fact that it is insanely expensive. The food has always been great but it was the was the total experience that made the prices tolerable. After signifigant staff turnover, I regret to say that the experience is no longer the same and that the prices will definitely keep me away.

I went with three friends to Milos on November 15, 2003. The atmosphere was spartan but worked. The service was impressive for the most part. There were almost to many wait staff to the point where I began to feel like they were trying to rush us through dinner to make room for the next group or to sell more wine. The sommalier was very adept at selling and pouring extremely expensive bottles of wine. The fish was quite fresh, as that is what Milos is known for. However, my friend ordered the crab cake entree and received one small one at a very large entree price. It was actually laughable. There was nothing unique about presentation. The prix fixe deserts were ordinary at best. The bill was not. None of our party would return to Milos.

Food was pricey, nice atmosphere, but would recommend different Greek restaurant for better overall value...like uncle nick's.
