While visiting NYC and Ground Zero, I stopped by for a sandwich and I am rating Essex World one of my favorite places during my visit. Being from the South, I wanted a "full flavor" of NYC and the pastrami on rye was fantastic, not to mention the chocolate-covered cannoli. If I lived in NYC, Essex would be a weekly delight!

My family and I recently visited New York City. We searched for a place to eat and found the Essex World Cafe right next to ground zero. We didn't expect more than some fast food, but got what I would call one of the best meals and best service I experienced in New York during our trip. The Philly Steak sandwhich is great along with many other items. Don't pass this place up.

I am a very picky eater and have had my share of "knock of buffalo wings" but by far Essex wings are one of the best made just right. Not your average baked wings with the sauce dripping of I would highly recomend food arrived on time and met my satisfication. Decent price for location when every where else is over priced will defiantely order again.

Excellent variety, friendly and competent counter service and tasty sandwiches. It isn't "upscale," but it has a certain charm. So close to the WTC/PATH you would think that this place would be mobbed at lunchtime. Fortunately, it isn't.
