I was looking forward to eat at this restaurant. The food was good but there definitely was an attitude with the service. Since we were first timers, service was not very warm. So no matter how the food is in restaurants, it's really how they make you feel that makes you come back. Too bad.

Erminia is small and makes you feel like you are in a private dining room. Well dressed people, well dressed waiters, very fine food. The tables are well spaced for a small place like this. It's not the kind of place you go with a bunch of loud obnoxious people, it's quiet romantic dining for couples. Very old school New York place.

I went there Friday night with my wife and another couple after reading the reviews. I expected a small, cozy, romantic Italian restaurant. Two out of four is not what I expected. It is small and Italian. There is nothing romantic or cozy as the tables are very close and they allow people to use cell phones which should be prohibited, especially in fine dining establishments. There are many restaurants in this city that are a lot more romantic where the people at the next table do not feel like they are part of your conversation. The food was good, maybe not the 25 that Zagat gave it but close. The presentation is not special. The waiter acts like he does not want to be bothered rather than like he is there to serve. The wine list is limited but passable. The food was fine. The veal erminia was good. My wife had a fish that was really spicey but did not want to send it back. The deserts were really average.

If you're looking fo classic italian food that is delicious, accompanied by a romantic atmosphere, Erminia is just the place to be.The restaurant is very small, seating only about 10 tables, contributing warmth, coziness and romance to the meal. The food is flavorful and delicious without being overly heavy on the stomach. The service was good as well. Erminia is a one of a kind experience in Manhattan, and everyone should try it aat least once.

I have always loved this restaurant for special occasions. There isn't another place like it in NYC. Very intimate with only 12 tables, flowers, and candles everywhere. It is the most romantic restaurant. The wine list is exceptional as well, and we had an incredible bottle of Italian wine with our delicious meal. The service and experience were perfect. This is truly only a restaurant for a date. It's not appropriate for a family or business dinner. I highly recommend Erminia for a high end romantic evening.

This place is simply amazing- there is no where like it in the city. The service really is invisible... although the tables are close together, you feel like you are in a room by yourself. It is also the most romantic place I have ever been in the city. Food is outstanding.... different than your typical italian joint. If you want her to fall in love with you- take her here. worked for me :)

My bf took me here last night for my birthday and we had one of the most romantic dinners we've ever had (and I drag him everywhere). From the tiny tables for two to the drip candles, the atmosphere was perfect. For dinner we had the filet mignon carpaccio and a salad special then lobster fra diavolo and seafood grilled skewers, everything was delicious. Topped off by a fantastic bottle of wine and some of the best zabaglione I've ever tasted, it was a perfect birthday. This little place is definitely one of those charming restaurants you'll wish you'd eaten at sooner.
