Went here some time ago, and decided to give it another try. It is a stone's throw from the extensive Second Ave. construction chaos. The tables are so close together that customers from another table interjected into our conversation. As a couple, we shared an appetizer (three teeny tiny artichokes for $16), and then had main courses (not looking for huge portions, but these were skimpy at best; did not order lobster), and shared a dessert and three glasses of wine (between the two of us- very pricy wine list), and with tax and tip it was well over $200. It hardly seemed worth it. For that kind of money we expect something somewhat special, and not to still be hungry after the meal. On an frustrating note, some patrons appeared to receive preferential service-- they must have been on expense accounts. Good luck with staying in business, Erminia. We will not return.

We came here with our good friends who were also celebrating their anniversary. The whole evening couldn't have been more perfect. From beginning to end, appetizers, the pasta we shared and our entrees and desserts...the food was fantastic, the service more than attentive. We look forward to returning. Don't miss this jewel!

This place is billed as the most romantic restaurant in NYC. Nonsense! It is tine, the tables are crammed together, it's noisy and smokes pours out of the kitchen into the dining room. Although the food is very good, the prices are insane. $14 for a tasting-sized glass of wine? $60 for Lobster Fra Diavolo at a time when the price of lobster is at an almost-all-time low? And entrees come with no accompaniments whatsoever. Don't believe the hype - there are better values at restaurants all over the city.

Well executed, classic Italian

My girlfriend and I dined here last night and it was an experience that was quite memorable. The food was on another level quality wise, the service was exceptional, and the ambiance was nothing short of romantic. You pay for what you get here, and I'd pay for it all over again. Fantastic find.

I'm quite easy to please when it comes to food so for me give Erminia such a bad review is saying a lot. The salmon was overcooked and charred; the crab pasta special was drenched in some sort of white, cheesy, tasteless sauce that could have come out of a jar. Not impressed at all and for the price I'd rather go to Babbo even if i have to wait hours for a seat - same price, but a universal difference in quality, ambiance and flavor.

This place was simply incredible. It's a tiny little place that makes you feel that you walked into a small Italian homestead and you entirely forget that you're in a city!
