    Revisited after many years

Had not been here since the 80's and 90's. I can't agree with the previous reviews. The food is excellent and just as I remembered it. The entire group that went left there with mostly positive remarks . The restaurant is tiny but that's part of it's charm. We were regulars at Trastevere( part of the Latanzi family restaurant empire) back in the day and it was great to taste the terrific Roman fare. Would go back in a heart beat. Yes there are many restaurants on the upper east side but many are just mediocre - glad we went back to this wonderful restaurant.

    Bums rush

Met our friends who were in from out of town on Monday night at 8:15 for our 8 pm reservation and anticipated good food and a relaxed evening. Although the food was really good and the atmosphere was inviting and ostensibly relaxed, we had not been warned that they wanted the restaurant cleared by 10 pm and were pressured throughout and particularly for the last half hour, making for a rather unpleasant experience. What a shame!

    exceeded expectations

Went back last night after 20 years for an anniversary dinner . Was expecting fabulous meal in highly romantic environment Other than NOT being offered my wives first choice table, with an obnoxious attitude, we sat and had a super super meal, with TERRIFIC and attentive service. Don't know why i waited so long to return-Truly a special gem in NYC

    Not Accomodating

This is perhaps the least customer accommodating restaurant I have come across in my 20+ years in the city. They think they are doing you a favor to have you eat there. Really incredibly off-putting attitude, and "dicey" behavior when it comes to reservations and billing at the end of the meal. In an earlier visit a month ago, the food was fine, but nothing to write home about. (I also note on that occasion, though they deigned to seat my friend and myself, ie they accepted the Savored reservation then, but "forgot" to apply the agreed upon discount. They corrected this, but you have to watch these guys as they seem a bit shady, like they are from Naples or something. There are many, many fine Italian restaurants in NYC, and this one, though slightly above average, is really an incredible disappointment with poor service and frankly really non-customer friendly attitudes. Trust me, this place is not worth the aggravation for food that is not over the top better than just so many authentic Italian restaurants in the city. Management/ownership of this restaurant should reassess how poorly they interact with customers.

    Underwhelmed and Disappointed

Went here some time ago, and decided to give it another try. It is a stone's throw from the extensive Second Ave. construction chaos. The tables are so close together that customers from another table interjected into our conversation. As a couple, we shared an appetizer (three teeny tiny artichokes for $16), and then had main courses (not looking for huge portions, but these were skimpy at best; did not order lobster), and shared a dessert and three glasses of wine (between the two of us- very pricy wine list), and with tax and tip it was well over $200. It hardly seemed worth it. For that kind of money we expect something somewhat special, and not to still be hungry after the meal. On an frustrating note, some patrons appeared to receive preferential service-- they must have been on expense accounts. Good luck with staying in business, Erminia. We will not return.

    perfect anniversary dinner!

We came here with our good friends who were also celebrating their anniversary. The whole evening couldn't have been more perfect. From beginning to end, appetizers, the pasta we shared and our entrees and desserts...the food was fantastic, the service more than attentive. We look forward to returning. Don't miss this jewel!
