    Disappointing

My husband and I were looking for a nice neighborhood eatery and the menu looked interesting. Unfortunately the food was overcooked and the service was poor. My husband ordered the tunisian couscous with chicken. The chicken was rubbery and dry and the couscous tasted like it was from a box. The disappointing part of the meal was the negligent service. We were ignored for the better part of our meal and after asking for the check we had to get up to leave to actually get the check. Won't be returning.

Inferior dining for such a pleasant setting

Nice place to meet for a bottle of wine and maybe a few lite bites, but I wouldn't recommend it for dinner. The Nicoise salad looks like a generous portion, but the tuna looked and tasted just like it came from the can! Usually I wouldn't mind, but I can get that at any local diner. So I suggest you lower your expectations: the interior setting does not match the mediocre dining quality presented on even such an unimaginative menu.

    Disappointing

I have been to many restaurants in the neighborhood in comparable price range and from a value standpoint this ranks very low. For starters the bread basket comes with little gold wrapped butter packets like what you would see in a diner, not what you expect from a restaurant with $20+ entrees. The vegetables in the salad we ordered did not taste that fresh, the risotto tasted more like macaroni and cheese than risotto. Although the food was disappointing the service was generally good. Perhaps the right move here is to order the house specialties but its hard to justify coming back when they they cannot come through on the basics.

    Reheated and overcooked

I never write reviews, but had such a disappointing experience last night that i feel I must. I have never thought about sending food back or not paying for my meal until last night. I ordered the rigatoni and the pasta was burnt, the salmon was undercooked and I have never seen so many chives in an italian dish. My fiance ordered the linguini with white clam sauce, it either was a frozen meal, or had been frozen. The clams were already out of the shell and clumped together. It was simply a mess. I hope this was an off night for them, but we are both never going back.

    Wonderful variety of food

My wife and I made an excellent choice for early dinner on Saturday night. The entrees were perfect. I had seafood and she had a pasta dish. Service was gracious and quite helpful. I would highly recommend Epices.

    Good food, reasonable prices

We've passed this place many times but stopped in last night for dinner. Service was attentive, atmosphere very nice, and the food was good, not great, but for the prices, well worth the visit.

    Highly recommended

Nice restaurant close to Central park. Friendly, cozy atmosphere, excellent food - don't miss the B'stilla. Very reasonably priced, plan to return.
