Food was bland and quite expensive and the atmosphere was lacking. Tons of better options close by. No manager present and there were only 3 tables filled for dinner, and when I requested to speak to a manager I was told "he was busy" and asked to communicate my issues to the server. Unbelievable and unacceptable.

Wow
I went to Eolo last night. It was very crowded for monday. The food was amazing as well as the service. I will go back for sure to eat the tagiatelle with short rib. it is a winner. The sfinci as a dessert is lovely.

I'm in love!
Seriously. I'm still thinking about the pomegranate salad I had. It was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. Great for the eyes and stomach and healthy, too! Not to mention, I would pay someone $50 to get those darn seeds out of the fruit, let alone, what?, $12 for a delicious salad? A steal, really. I had the lasagna for dinner (1/2 serving). Absolutely delicious! And I don't care for eggplant (an ingredient in this lasagna) - and I ate every last morsel. Dessert included the bread pudding and the doughnuts. Out. Of. This. World. The wines were great and included some of my favorite varieties. The service was extremely attentive. I love the decor. I see myself coming back many, many times! What a gem!

Ruined celebration dinner
Went to Eolo last night to celebrate a big event in my life. I had read nice things about the food. The food was not good, and overpriced. The only thing that was tasty was the cheese we had. Our meals were bland, dry and overpriced. The service was slow and the wine list was subpar. After sending back a meal and asking for a glass of wine instead, we were surprised to see it on the bill. Regardless of whether a dessert is paid for, an inedible dinner ruins an event and should be handled differently if the restaurant wants return customers. I would never go back: there's plenty of mediocre Italian to be had in Chelsea. Save your time and money.

Amazing Find!
Based on prior reviews, I decided to give Eolo a try for my birthday party. And what a find! Loved everything from the appetizers to the desserts. I ordered a homemade birthday cake in advance, and what a treat it was! The chef-owner Melissa is a rising star in the NY culinary scene and is very gracious and welcoming. She came to our table and gave wine and food recommendations. I highly recommend to anyone you likes special, unique Italian fare in a rustic setting.

Highly Recommended!
My wife and I throughly enjoyed our meal at Eolo tonight. The food was unique and clearly prepared with love. The octopus appetizer was so tender. For the main course, I ate the puff pastry drum stuffed with pasta and meatballs and my wife had the seafood cous cous. All stellar! The ricotta donuts were out of this world - apparently a family recipe. The owner was welcoming and charming. She recommended a Sicilian wine that we savored and she gave us tips for our upcoming vacation in Sicily. All in all, a very positive experience with refined service. We will be back and will surely bring friends.

Not so good... Sorry wanted to like thisa place
Anitpasto was too cold- straight from the fridge. Pasta overly sauced. Not great is a fair assesment. Better Sicilian food in Brooklyn. Expensive for what it is. Maybe a less ambitious menu?
