Long delivery times, messed up orders - oh well!
We tried to find a replacement for my regular weekly order to Better Burger - which sadly closed - by trying out Energy Kitchen a few times. The good: the burgers actually tasted pretty good - but it was hard to tell since all 3 times it was stone cold when it arrived. The disappointing: absurdly long delivery times. I live only a few blocks away and all 3 times it was over 50 minutes - and the last time was 1 hour and 12 minutes. Unacceptable for 2 burgers, 2 fries and 2 smoothies to travel a 5 minute walk. They have also messed up the order 2 out of 3 times. (again - see the simplicity of the above order). As stated before - the food arrived totally cold, the buns had disintegrated from probably sitting around for an hour, and their new air-baked "fries" (in trying to compete with the old Better Burger) were cold, mushy masses. I may try them again if I ever pass by one and need a burger - but I will never, EVER order from any of their locations again. A place like this that can't handle short-distance delivery and keeping simple orders straight shouldn't be in business in NYC.

do they know how to cook?
My company contracts with them for catering (Atmosphere and Service should have an Not Applicable option). The meats are underdone, and the rice is crunchy. Do they not know how to finish cooking food, or do they expect their customers to microwave everything?

Delivery
Never eaten inside this place but the quality of food when I ordered online and it was delivered was really not good. They also missed items off my order not once, but twice in a row. Wouldn't order delivery from here again (plus the staff didn't really didn't care they mucked the order up twice, and kept me waiting 12 mins on phone when they knew they had to re-deliver to me)

I always forget...
the food is good but it takes so long for delivery! It has almost been an hour and I am still waiting.

Is it worth it if...
the service is horrible? The food is great. Much better than similar places (i.e. PUMP), however, the people who take your order - one guy in particular and I will be finding out the name - is just really abrasive and rude. I'm usually a patient person and things like that do not get me going, but without fail, this same person takes my order on the days I order, and this same person just sets such a bad tone that it makes me wonder if it is worth it.

Sham
The food at energy kitchen is very respectable and seems to be rather healthy. The problem is that, per their ads, I was expecting a substitute good for fast food and this place is not even close to being in the same price range. $8 wraps $11 salads? This place is a sham in that it poses as a cheap, fast food locale with healthy options when really it's just like any other wrap/health food spot in the city.

Healthy=Tasteless
Stopped by for a late lunch/early dinner and ordered one of their entree chicken breast selections with 2 sides., vegetarian chili and salad. It was so utterly devoid of any taste I spoke to the short order Mexican cook in Spanish to inquire why. Mexico a country where all the food bursts with flavour the cook informed me the patrones insist it be cooked that way. You have to wonder since when is healthy to be equated to tasteless? Even the salad while very fresh was tasteless. You have to be a genius to make vegetarian chili taste like cardboard but these guys did it. As for the chicken breasts, in fact is was 1 very small one cut in 2 with not a drop of salt, pepper or spice. I practically had to drown everything in Tabasco sauce to get a smidgen of taste. Oh and in a totally empty restaurant at 4:30PM it took them 35 minutes to prepare this feast.
