the kind of food that gives "healthy" (not that it is) a bad name

As a health conscious eater who adores good food, i was bitterly disappointed by this small chain, which does not live up to its name or its clean-and-green decor. Much of the food is not fresh (bottled juices, not fresh-squeezed) and even what is is not particularly fresh (sad broccoli). Much is not "natural": artificially sweetened & colored beverages. It is not healthy, though it is low-calorie: a low- or possible no-fat 225 calorie muffin was not only unpleasantly textured and near-tasteless, it was made of white flour, not whole-grain. What an exploitation of the desire to eat well AND healthfully! About as "energetic" as a carrot stick that goes squish instead of crunch when you bite into it.

    Slow, Expensive, and Tastless

I understand the concept of the restaurant but the food was poor in quality and the wait time was extensive. We ordered a Bison Burger, a Thai Wrap, and a Turkey Burger. Total $23.92. I think the bag would have tasted better. I would not recommend or go again. I wish them the best. They are going to need it.

    Awesome

I used to go to the one near Grand Central after working out at the nearby NYSC. I remember asking the manager more than once if they'd ever open one on the UES, and they finally have! They are by far my favorite health food place in NYC. Their website prints not just calorie counts, but carb and protein amounts too. And the food is delicious. BTW, just ordered from the UES one for the first time and it came in 10-15 minutes. On a Saturday! Highly recommended.

    excellent!

Ordered the Bison Cheese Steak Wrap and a side of sweet mashed potatoes and both were excellent! Bison was delicious, especially if you add a little bit of ketchup. this was my first time ordering w/ them and I will def order again!

    Great delivery!

I ordered a special wrap with a veggie burger--craisins--walnuts and cheese and it was delivered perfectly! and tasted great too! Alot of other places would charge up the wazoo for all the addons but this place was nothing but accomodating. I hear the smoothies are great also, i plan on going there sometime soon... recommedned for all who want to eat healthy!!!

    awesome

I love energy kitchen. I've been eating it ever since I moved to NYC. It's the best tasting "health" food I've ever had, and I prefer it over greasy fast food anyday. The guys there remember you after just a few visits, the delivery is usually great - obviously there's been a couple times where it took a little longer than expected. Our favorite menu items are the ostrich burger, tex mex wrap, bison philly cheesesteak, salmon teriyaki or cajun style, veggie chili, and mashed sweet potatoes. All of these are best with extra hot sauce. The nutritional facts are listed on their website which is always a plus for me!!

    Don't Waste Your Time

I just had an awful delivery experience. An hour and a half after I ordered, I got a phone call saying someone on another floor of my building had my food. 20 minutes later I walk to the elevator and theres the delivery guy standing there. I also received my omlette without a fork or knife or napkins. I ate a little bit with my fingers before feeling gross and chucking it. The food was really soggy and gross. The omlette was dripping wet and the tomatoes and broccoli were limp and bland. The smoothie I ordered tasted like slim fast. Very disappointing considering the othe reviews here. I would NOT recommend this place.
