    Nice, Comfortable Brazilian Restaurant

I've been here around 6 times now. It's a very nice place. The prices are a little high, but the food is excellent. The size is average and it's a nice atmosphere. No thumping music, etc. The staff is friendly, but they don't often check on you, which is a little bit of a disappointment. But I do really like this restaurant and will continue to go there.

    Fed My Craving

I'm from New Bedford, Mass. I have been in NYC for 7 years now, so when I started to crave Portugese/Brazilian food, I looked all over the city to fill that craving. Who would have thought the answer to my prayers would be right under my nose. I work in the theatre disrict, so my city wide search was useless. This place is a tiny gem, that more than pleased me and my entire party. The food was AMAZING. The service was friendly and prompt. Great bang for your buck. The steak with the egg is to die for, as is the lingucia frita. If you love Brazilian food this place will please you to the core. The atmosphere is low key and quaint.

    Excellent Prime Rib

I usually go to the Brazilian Restaurant across the street (Via Brasil) with my father, one day in March or April I took my mother to Emporium by mistake. My mother, grandmother, and brother all said that their food was pretty good, but they were not raving about it. They ordered off the menu, I ordered a special they were offering, Prime Rib with mashed potatoes. It looked good, the huge bone was laying across the plate (I took it home for my friend's dog). It was the best meal I've ever had at any restaurant.. ever. It was the tenderest beef I've ever had, it melted in my mouth, it was so delicious it was orgasmic. What I really love though, is that a few weeks back I sent them an email describing the dish, and wondering when they would be serving it again. They put the special back up after I asked which was really great and unexpected. I'm going there tonight with my boyfriend, hopefully it will be the same as last time.

Not recommended if you are a mere tourist...

We are big fans of Brazilian food but it was the first time in NYC. This Restaurant serves decent "feijoada completa".but the mood of the manager is not as good as you deserve. It seems to be different if he already knows you. The waiters are ok, If you are a mere tourist with a "I love NY t-shirt" go somewhere else.

    5.0s all around

We walked by yesterday and saw the outside seating so tried for lunch today. Had the fried manioc (yucca) for an appetizer which was delicious and a large serving. Definitely try the chicken with hearts of palm sauce! It's a creamy sauce and it's served with rice. It's AMAZING. The staff was very friendly and accomodating, and it was very affordable. Portions are huge so the prices are right on.

    Excellent food and friendly staff

My husband and I wanted to try something different for dinner last Friday. We happened to walk by this restaurant and decided to give it a try. What a lucky break! We shared the mesclun salad, grilled meat combo with the side dish of collard greens, and creme brulee as dessert. The meat combo dish with four different types of meat (chicken, steak, sausage & port) came with rice and bean. Overall, the dishes were excellent with full of wonderful flavors. Especially the steak was juicy and tender. Also, the meat combo dish was huge, and we didn't even get to finish it. The place was decorated nicely, and everyone there was extremely friendly and attentive. Overall we had a great dining experience, and we will definitely go back.
