The wait staff is nice and down to earth. And the food is very good. But unlike their other little bar in Tribeca this place has no class. Maitre'De and doorman are kind of ridiculous... The overall vibe makes for a very tacky Sex And The City Speakeasy.

Wow, was I shocked. Was there with a few girl friends one Saturday night and was not feeling well, so I went to the back of the restaurant to see if I can find a chair to sit for a few minutes (rest of the bar was packed). Instead of letting me sit down for a few minutes, the obnoxious waiter freaked out over letting me using one of the chairs from his tables, saying "chairs are reserved for paying customers." Mind you - we've been ordering drinks at the bar AND no one was waiting to be seated for food as it was pretty late in the night. Been there before and confirm the bad service all around.

No matter what "feel" the owners are going for, the facts remain the same. The place was very crowded both times I went, and it is clearly not for the mediocre food. The service was poor mainly because the place is so cramped. There were a bunch of cute banker guys at the bar, but overall my gfs and I decided we are done fighting the crowd at this spot.

Reviewers here are leaving impressions that blatantly show they don't "get" the spirit of what the owners are shooting for here, old style speak-easy, tilting unfortunately towards the theme side. If the owners soften up a bit on the heavy handed approach this diamond in the rough will become the gem they want to be. Meanwhile, it takes two to tango... customers should play it a bit more cool too. The last thing the Village need is more pretentious, clueless, loud uncultured prigs aiming to 'see & be seen' above having a good time... relax, have a drink, thrills will find you if it's meant to be...

The is really a bar but the food is good most of the time. However, on Friday and Saturday the place gets bombarded by out of towners and becomes a circus. Better to go there on Week days (Tuesday - Thursday). Also watch out for the bouncers who are looking for any reason to deny you entry.

The name of this restaurant refers to the people who can get good a meal at this place – the Employees Only! I personally think the menu is very good, but the service is abysmal. The waitress actually left in the middle of our taking our order to “run some drinks to another table.” That was a first. We had to flag down the bus staff to ask for water, bread plates, steak knives etc. I’ve been twice and unfortunately I think this type of service is more the norm than an exception. If I ever went back it would just be for a drink at the bar.

First off is this a restaurants or a bar? We had to convince the bouncer that we had reservations to eat dinner. After we finally got in and made our way to the hostess through the hordes of people at the bar we were told that our table was going to take another 15 minutes to prepare. With barely anywhere to stand we waited for the table. We were taken to the back of the restaurants which was surprisingly nice so if you are planning to eat here definitely sit in the back room far away from the bar and the noise. Our waitress, although sweet and attentive had no idea about the wines on their list. The food was definitely overpriced and just OK. The drinks at this place are awesome though and from what I heard they are known for their cocktails.
