    Loves it!

The food and the drinks are so yummy and for the price I was shocked. Definitely crowded in there but my boy friend said that's how you know it's good! Will be going back for more!

    Love the Steak Tartare

They make it right at the table and so it varies from person to person but it's usually pretty good to excellent. It can be a little annoying at times with the crowds. Just come when it isn't that busy.

    suprising dinner!

Had a great dinner last night.. Haven't been in awhile and was really surprised at how great the food and atmosphere was. I would still avoid the weekends.. but will show up for early week dinners.. Great drinks too!

    Sex And The City Speakeasy

The wait staff is nice and down to earth. And the food is very good. But unlike their other little bar in Tribeca this place has no class. Maitre'De and doorman are kind of ridiculous... The overall vibe makes for a very tacky Sex And The City Speakeasy.

    Poor service / grouchy waiters

Wow, was I shocked. Was there with a few girl friends one Saturday night and was not feeling well, so I went to the back of the restaurant to see if I can find a chair to sit for a few minutes (rest of the bar was packed). Instead of letting me sit down for a few minutes, the obnoxious waiter freaked out over letting me using one of the chairs from his tables, saying "chairs are reserved for paying customers." Mind you - we've been ordering drinks at the bar AND no one was waiting to be seated for food as it was pretty late in the night. Been there before and confirm the bad service all around.

    Oh, we get it..

No matter what "feel" the owners are going for, the facts remain the same. The place was very crowded both times I went, and it is clearly not for the mediocre food. The service was poor mainly because the place is so cramped. There were a bunch of cute banker guys at the bar, but overall my gfs and I decided we are done fighting the crowd at this spot.

check website to see what they're about

Reviewers here are leaving impressions that blatantly show they don't "get" the spirit of what the owners are shooting for here, old style speak-easy, tilting unfortunately towards the theme side. If the owners soften up a bit on the heavy handed approach this diamond in the rough will become the gem they want to be. Meanwhile, it takes two to tango... customers should play it a bit more cool too. The last thing the Village need is more pretentious, clueless, loud uncultured prigs aiming to 'see & be seen' above having a good time... relax, have a drink, thrills will find you if it's meant to be...
