Switcheroo Palooza
Have ordered for Empire for over a year and every time there is a mysterious extra $1 or $2 added under the guise of another drink that's never included. Their prawns are regular-ole shrimp, seafood for the sushi is in mid defrosting stage, Pad thai noodles are hard/uncooked - and on and on. But if you want sub-par, unauthentic overpriced food - EMPIRE will live up to your dreams and more.

ok lets try this again
It has been awhile because I was annoyed with them for skimping on the meats and rude service, but I thought to myself ok let's try this again. I Placed my order 7:24 pm Sat. Night and the phone lady was lovely, clear, articulate and polite. She even reminded me of the free b's that I qualified for noodles, sushi and or sodas with orders over ten dollars. I ordered Dumplings, Sw and Sour Pork, Chow fun with Shrimp, side order of roast pork and Ginger Chicken Shrimp duet. So now we wait...BRB... 7:48 Dinner's here, and with the exception of forgetting the roast pork everything looks great. Called about the roast pork and she insisted on sending it right over. 8:00 pm on a saturday night friends and family are enjoying their food and all in all I would WELCOME BACK cause I missed quality food in the heights. KEEP IT UP PLEASE!

sushi improved a little but not enough....
Decided to give Empire another chance. Last time i ordered from them was about a year ago. At that time the sushi was not good, they didn't use japanese sushi rice and the ingredients was not fresh. This time, 7/29/09 I decided to give them a try again. First off, all of their sushi is 50% off but beware, the original price of the sushi is expensive to begin with so take it with a grain of salt. I give them credit that they are using better rice but i still laugh that they use a piece of boston lettuce as an ingredient. The guy that made the sushi needs to learn how to cut them into pieces because he cut it way to big. I did take a look at the temperature reading where the fish is stationed and it was at the correct temp so thats good. Overall, I say there are 2 ways to look at Empire regarding their sushi. If you don't mind big pieces and are not a big sushi eater then I guess Empire will do. If you eat a lot of sushi at places that use fresh fish and premium grade sushi rice, then you will find Empire's sushi not to standard. ~honest eater

Ridiculous that they're in business!!!
Rude service, the food was starch and oil. I thought this was a one time thing but no I tried it again and just not good! I know there are very few option in the Heights but do yourself a favor and make a PB&J!!!

Am addicted to the sesame tofu. I love the Buddha's delight, the sesame sauce is divine. Rolls are not reliable, and stay away from sushi. Higher than room temp and fragrant. I think by their behavior, the delivery persons must be treated terribly. Tip accordingly.

subpar
We've ordered from this place a lot in the past year. The size of their sushi is ridiculous. You can barely fit the pieces of sushi in your mouth unless you've got a mouth the size of a bear because they use way too much rice. Most of the sushi is just ok. Nothing great at all. Actually, the salmon and tuna don't taste very fresh and every single time they over do the spice. It's too much hot sauce. I like hot sauce, but jeez, calm down with it. So, we stopped ordering from here. Hoping you'll get something better the next time you order just doesn't happen. Oh, one more thing, the lady that takes our order is mad. She needs to take a chill pill.

Disgusting - Vegetarians beware
On multiple occasions I have been unknowingly served meat by this place. Last time I ordered Vegetarian hot and sour soup and sesame tofu. The soup had about a dozen small pieces of pork (my non-veg wife confirmed this) mixed in with the other solids. The sesame tofu had 2 pieces of what clearly was NOT tofu (chicken I guess?). Today I ordered vegetarian orange beef. This is supposed to be fake meat made from textured veg protein. Instead I was served real beef, confirmed by the hostess! They replaced the dish, with apologies. I ate the corrected dish, upset, but assuming it was just a mistake that happens. Just now I was eating the leftovers of that dish. It is indeed mostly veg...but there is also clearly one loose shrimp tail and one whole shrimp mixed in. What the $$@#! I will never eat here again.
