Went there today for very simple takeout order--and was shocked how bad the food was. Spare ribs were literally rancid; scallion pancakes an oily mess and wonton soup so salty I needed a gallon of water to equalize. I have a very low bar, but this place is rated NA: Never again!

It was empty @3:30, so I sat down for a late lunch & took out my battery powered laptop to write as I ate. By 5:15, only 3 others came & left the 30+ seat room. Waiter asked if he could get the check - I said fine, but I'd be staying 1 hr longer. He balked, saying it was lunch. When I pointed out the place was virtually empty and I wasn't even using electricity, the only newly arriving patron left, saying what she heard made up her mind. Went across the street & 1/2 hr later, see only 1 of 6 window seats filled. With service like this, it's no wonder - too many other friendly Village places to put up with rude service in this economy. Food is standard & not worth the attitude.

We had their chili scallops delivered and what that consisted of was freezer burned scallops soaked in a brown sauce that had the consistency of old fry oil and had tons of onions to cover the taste. It went right in the garbage. I asked for the $11.99 to be paid back to us and the manager says he'll give me a $10 credit on the next order. I walked to the restaurant and demanded my money back. I've been ordering from them for about 5 years. Never again.

I ordered curried chicken with brown rice for delivery. It arrived covered in onions that tasted moldy, and with white rice instead. No napkins, no copy of my bill to know if I had been charged for brown rice. When I called to complain about the onions, the guy on the phone was hostile and argumentative, as though I had done something wrong. If you want old vegetables, this is your place!

We ordered takeout. After an hour and a half waiting and two calls promised it was on it's way, it arrived. Egg roll..cold and congealed. Shrimp teryaki a mushy pasty ball of something. All inedible.

I really hate to be a complainer, but I ordered the sesame chicken and it was literally too gross to eat. It was 70% dough and 30% mushy dark meat covered in overly sweet sauce. Maybe this was just a bad exception to the norm; however, there won't be a second chance to find out.

My new go-to delivery place. I've been searching for a long time and haven't been happy with any of the places I've tried in the neighborhood. It was a huge relief to find Grand Sichuan. Lunch Special is about $6 with 2 choices from soups (hot & sour- my fave, egg drop, wonton. Other to choose is vegi fried, white or Brown. I like pork and I fave is L15, Double Cooked Pork. I think pork is lightly boiled and then, sir fried with leeks. The sweetness from leeks and fatty pork texture work beautifully with hot peppers. Since this is heavy side of dish, I choose Brown rice. Hustle-free delivery guys are nice.
