Small portion of rice!
I ordered crispy chicken with garlic sauce and was stunned to find that the accompanying rice was VERY small, what is that? Its not even enough for a small kid. I would never order from them again, totally no value for money!

Inedible
Ordered from Empire Corner tonight. Beef with Four Spices (or something like that) had corn starchy sauce, red bell peppers, mushy broccolli, and no flavor or seasonings other than, I'm sure, a heap of MSF; sweet and sour shrimp was so greasy and loaded down with batter, with the red, starchy "sweet and sour sauce" on the side, comprised only of cornstarch, so I didn't even take a bite of that; scallion pancakes so greasy that after one bite, ugh. The fried rice - how can you get that wrong? Chicken fried rice with one piece of frozen carrot, one piece of unidentifiable green stuff, some things that resembled onions, and a poor flavor. We called and returned.

Best greasy spoon chinese
I can't believe hoe tasty the food is here! Love the spare ribs, and sweet and sour pork. And they are so nice too. My go to place for chinese

good pork fried rice
i saw these two kids eating it and it smelled good, so i tried it. It only took about five minutes, and the woman at the counter was really polite. I would come here more often if I lived closer

Disappointing and substandard
What a disappointment! We ordered "Happy Family" but instead of the "chunks of unshelled lobster, fresh scallops, sliced flank steak" promised in the menu we got beef with broccoli. Not one single piece of lobster in sight! The duck was old and overly fat and the sesame chicken was cold. Everything we ordered was greasy and full of MSG. We wished we had eaten cereal for dinner instead.

I agree..best of the west
I have lived up here more than 20 yrs and I can't believe how good this Chinese is. Spare ribs are tasty!

Best Chinese food on the UWS
I don't usually write reviews, but I felt compelled to after having such a good experience with Empire tonight. The staff/manager was very kind and accomodating. I've been a customer for quite some time and I have yet to be disappointed. The food has been hot, fresh, and delivered in a timely fashion every time. Keep up the good work!
