We had a sausage biscuit and gravy and it was excellent and also a scotch egg was good. Wonderful house made clementine jam.

Apparently, EV is the new BK as precious Smorgasburg-type food purveyors open storefronts featuring essentially one thing. So they had better make that one thing great. Empire Biscuit has excellent biscuits (both all-butter and flaky semi-lard) and apparently high standard for the items that go on them (small farm piggy and dairy items). At 4.50 a pop for a biscuit and two unique condiments (maple butter TDF), it is expensive, but I found the experience a real treat. And if your biscuit is not hot out of the oven, speak up! Service is attentive and caring. Space is appealing in a perch and go kind of way. Will be checking out the sausage gravy some time soon and will report back.

I read a few things about this place so I went. I'm not sure what those people were smoking when they went there because this place is awful. You'd think the biscuits at a place that sells biscuits would be good. Nope. Terrible. Hard, flavorless, dry. I had a bacon and egg biscuit and one with fried chicken. Both were bad. Actually bad. Oh, and their "cola" is not even good. First of all, it's not "cola," it's a carbonated beverage. And it tastes like cleaning fluid. Seriously. When I threw my half-eaten food out and left, I felt as if a camera crew were going to surprise me for a television show wherein customers are served terrible food and the audience waits to see how much they'll eat before they throw it out. Don't waste your time or money here.
