Empanada Mama

If you like the idea of empanadas filled with all sorts of odd things, as I do, you'll probably love this place. Today I got the Mambo Italiano, the Brasil, and the Sweet Plantain with Cheese empanadas. Each one was delicious. As for how many empanadas are necessary to attain fullness, I do very well with three. I tend to eat large portions, and frankly these things are pretty small looking. You might feel like you could eat five of them just based on their appearance, but about 15 minutes after eating three empanadas I was stuffed, and I wasn't hungry again for several hours. I've never eaten in the place, only ordered delivery. When I called today, the lady was very nice on the phone and she had no problem with my order of 9 different empanadas (for me and my coworkers). They came fairly quickly, and the delivery guy was nice too.

I've read other reviews complaining about the service, but our waitress couldn't have been nicer. She made suggestions, gave us just the right amount of attention, and we enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Yes, the place is small and I can see where it could get crazy, but going during happy hour time was perfect. We will definitely go again.

Every weekend I stop by to pick up food. The empanadas are incredible and the service has always been exceptional to me...In fact, I look forward to stopping by...I have not sat down to eat, but I do see that the service to their patrons is polite and the presentation of all the food is yummy! Great value, great service and great food!

I live on the corner and have gone several times to grab food here. Each and every time I go the girls on pretty rude and dont care about the service. The empanadas are ok but too greasy and the prices are outrageous. They do however have a very authentic soup (oxtails) that is very tasty. Not sure if the $11 price is worth it though when you are also being treated rudely and its their way, its not just one day it happens.

i know some of the workers here, and i can see how other folks are saying the service is rude - which is pretty bad. the empanadas have a decent crust and there is a huge variety with respect to the filling - but overall, they are nothing special. i would say they are average at best. the atmosphere would be a nice ambiance but the restaurant is way too narrow. if you are looking to satisfy an empanada craving and golden krust doesn't cut it for you, try this place...but otherwise, i would recommend staying away.

The empanadas are taste close to real Empanadas. A great variety to choose from. Great to have many different flavors delivered to your apartment. Fav's Dessert Empanada Belgian chocolate & banana. , Brasil, Shredded Beef, Cheese Steak. The other Food is good to very good at best. Would go again easily.

The small space was cozy, but very nice. The wait staff was very attentive. The food was great! We had tapas selections and enjoyed every singel item. Don't miss out on the arepas and the yucca fritas.
