Need to go if in NYC
I get to the city every other year from California and this place has now made my list of, "must eats". The menu is Colombian influenced and the empanadas were first rate. The options and the quality of the fillers are impressive. If your on the West side, stop and give it a try.

Gotta love it
So I made the first mistake and called Empanada mama for an out order. As a new customer, they ask you to give them your credit card over the phone because then they 'know' you will come get your food. Personally, in a world of identity theft they can keep that practice. However, still interested I said let me go try this place out! When I got there everybody was nice, the restaurant was clean, and the food smelled good. I ordered a cherry lemonade ( YESS) 2 viagras, 1 greek, 1 beef and a Reggaeton. The food is amazing here, for the price you can't beat it. And there's no weird after taste which suggests they use quality products.. I will be ordering from here again. Take some time and walk down there and try them out. Its worth it. SOO worth it! As a side bar, if youre' a food like me the area that Empanada mama is in is perfect for lunch time food adventures. Love it!!!

Great Lunch Spot!
My fiance and I visited Empanada Mama in late March. We were pleasantly surprised with the menu variety and value. The two of us split 4 empanadas for a light lunch. The best choices were the spicy chicken, chorizo and a seafood empanada called "Viagra." We'll definitely be back in the future!

Satisfaction
Got there around 7:00, the place was packed. It's not very big to begin with. After a short wait they sat me at a semi-cramped counter seat along the wall. I ordered a Viarga and a Chicken empanada. It didn't take long for the empanadas to arrive. The Viagra was excellent, the Chicken one was alittle dry. For the money and the location it's a great deal.

Great place for delivery
This is a great place if you want a tasty bite at home. Price is very convenient. Try cheese steake, hawaian and, also the sweet empanadas. We loved it!

Delicious!
This place is great - and so affordable! I ate here with a friend on a Saturday night and loved it. Very relaxed and the empanadas were so so good. I had the cheese, the ham & cheese, and the chorizo. Loved them all. Thanks to the previous reviewer who said 3 empanadas were enough - I probably would have thought I needed more but was stuffed after 3. We loved it and will definitely be returning!

Great for Delivery!!
We order lunch in and the food is absolutely delicious. As noted the empanadas are quite small and you think you can eat 4 or 5, but after eating 2 and munching on the plantain chips or yellow plantains you are quite full. Never visited the place personally so I can't comment on atmosphere, but overall my coworkers love the food so we will keep ordering!!
