The place is clean as a wistle & stylishly cool...the service is knowledgable and very helpful....the empanadas are tasty and look small, but are deceptively filling. The beef & veggie ones were good, so was the kilbasea, but the chicken was dry & the "pizza" one was eh'....two & a salad is a good rule...three including a dessert one works too....they travel well & heat up quickly in a conventional oven.

The empanadas were good . . . . however, despite the guy behind the counter saying they were Colombian . . . there was no similarity. They used ground beef not shredded and if there was any potato inside . . . it was undetectable . . . as for the price . . . $1.75 for a basic empanada which would go for $1.00 in Queens or New Jersey.

Oh, I'll keep coming back. And back. Try them all, they're all good (the Tuna is so-so, but the rest are outstanding!)! Placing an order for delivery is hard, with the background noise, and the phone keeps ringing and ringing, but they arrive nice and warm! Best dessert one is the Guava, in my opinion. Don't miss this place, you'll regret it.

The empanadas are great, fresh and very tasty. The prices are excellent, and it's a great choice for lunch in the city!

Just had my second excellent meal at Empanada Mama. The wheat empanadas are crisp, greaseless, and stuffed with really tasty fillings, including chicken, pork, Cuban (ham, pork, and cheese), Polish (kielbasa and sauerkraut), and Elvis (peanut butter and banana)! The fruit drinks are AMAZING and totally refreshing when the weather is as hot as it's been lately. Most of the empanadas are around $3-4 so you can nibble on a whole bunch without feeling like you spent a lot. Service is friendly and smiling. It's a perfect place to go for a bite after a movie. Don't miss the dessert empanads, including a wonderful caramel and cheese.

These empanada's are the best I have ever had and I am a big fan of empanada's. The service is a litle slow but well worth the wait. I hope to see many, MANY more locations opening in NYC soon!
