Smooth, dense, and flavorful.
The icecream here is delicious and has a wonderfully creamy texture. The people behind the counter are efficient, patient, and generous with samples ... there was even a pitcher of cold water and small cups on the counter for thirsty customers. Lots of creativity here, from the icecream flavors to the many types of waffle cones available. Just be aware that it's a very small place so there isn't much room to sit down.

Homemade...but not by Emack or Bolio
True, Emack & Bolio has great ice cream. Just don't fool yourself that it is homemade. It is made by the Bliss Brothers Dairy of Attleboro, MA to E&B's specifications. THAT is where the world's best ice cream is made!

Death by Ice Cream
We stumbled upon this place about a year ago and now if we're even within the 79th St. vicinity, we cannot pass up E&Bs (went the other night and got ice cream when it was 35 degrees out!). My personal favorite: Heaven (marshmallow, white chocolate) in a rice crispy cone. Who thinks up a rice crispy laced waffle cone? E&B does...and that's why we continue to go back...even though they are pricey.

Mmmm
Alas, my urge to eat healthily prevented me from trying the raspberry truffle ice cream, but I opted for grasshopper pie frozen yogurt with excellent results: a refreshing base just chock full of chocolate bits. Emack and Bolio's is a true delight both to the eye and the palate.

Homemade Ice Cream in NY!
As someone who reside in Boston most of the year (which has the most homemade ice cream per person) it saddens me that New York, my favorite city, is throughly lacking in this aspect. But no longer! Emack and Bolio's, a d boston homemade ice cream classic is here and AMAZING. Their flavors are creative, and I am always satisfied. Very High Quality, very fun, superb ice cream.
