Best carribean food in harlem
Ate there on Mother's Day . When other restaurants had 2 hour waits I just came in Elsie's and I was seated immediately. The atmosphere is small yet very romantic. The food was very good especially the price . I would recommend this spot to ANYONE who wants a good meal from the carribean .i will definitely eat there again

Delicious - a neighborhood must!
A wonderful Harlem must for anyone living in or visiting the neighborhood! Everything I've tried here is delicious - the jerk chicken, salmon, shrimp, the curries, the rotis, the soup and the sides are wonderful, especially the callaloo! Their service is warm, attentive and welcoming. Go - you'll be glad you did!

Great Caribbean food!!
Food came out very quick and was very delicious. I recommend the various lemonades and teas that they have and don't miss out on the desserts as they give you a generous portion at a low price!

Great food, great value
I found this place on MenuPages and took my wife who likes Caribbean food. I am a vegetarian but there was no shortage of choices. I had the roti filled with 3 side vegetables and it was huge and delicious. My wife had the brown stewed chicked and she loved it and her sides. The restaurant is narrow but attractive and the background music was great. It also has one of the nicest bathrooms I've seen in a non-luxurious restaurant. Run, don't walk...

Neighborhood Diamond in the Rough
What a pleasant surprise! Awesome West Indian food. We stopped in late (9 pm ish) on a Friday night, so they were out of many things on the menu. But we had a delicious jerk shrimp plantain appetizers. For entrees, I had the chicken Roti. It was delicious and HUGE. My friend had a wonderful jerk salmon entrée. We ordered Carrot cake to share for dessert. It was good, but too many raisins for me. Very nice feature, you can bring your own bottle of wine. We got ours around the corner for $12. All in all a great dining experience. We will be back!
