Heading home after an amazing Jazz session at Bill's Place soon after midnight, we saw the restaurant and were looking at the menu; it seemed closed, but Jerry, the owner, beckoned us in. We asked if it was possible to order a goat roti (my favourite) to go; even though their staff were just preparing to leave, Jerry (and Elsie) not only served the most delicious goat and chicken rotis we had ever eaten, but after a vigorous discussion about world affairs, the state of development in Africa and the emerging role of China, Jerry and Elsie (who joined us 2/3 of the way through the meal) refused to allow us to pay. We were extremely touched by their hospitality and genuine generosity. I highly recommend this restaurant, particularly for out of town visitors. We did not leave until 2:30 and could have stayed longer, but we had a very long drive back to Canada the next morning. Thanks Jerry and Elsie!

The first time I ordered the food was good. I have only gotten take-out, the second time the food was good, but they were suppose to open at 1:00 and didn't open until almost 2:00. Ordered again today and the food was not good . Peas n rice, plaintains and shrimp all over-cooked some bordering on burned. When I called the guy was unapologetic. Go figure :<)

Ate there on Mother's Day . When other restaurants had 2 hour waits I just came in Elsie's and I was seated immediately. The atmosphere is small yet very romantic. The food was very good especially the price . I would recommend this spot to ANYONE who wants a good meal from the carribean .i will definitely eat there again

A wonderful Harlem must for anyone living in or visiting the neighborhood! Everything I've tried here is delicious - the jerk chicken, salmon, shrimp, the curries, the rotis, the soup and the sides are wonderful, especially the callaloo! Their service is warm, attentive and welcoming. Go - you'll be glad you did!
