    A lot of fun

Went here with my mother and my children. It was a great show and the burgers were good. We were tired and hungry and we really enjoyed the wait staff. They were very talented. If you are looking to get a quick buger this is not the place for you but if you want to relax and enjoy some good music then come here. The kids really enjoyed the show and they we're not restless. My mom enjoy the fifties music and the kids had fun too.

    Like a Broadway show

I was craving an omelette and came to Ellen's Stardust Diner from menupages. The omelette was not that great at all - it was overcooked and undercooked at the same time, and there was only a handful of fries that came with it. But the atmosphere was great. The waiters really know how to belt out a tune and I liked sitting there listening to them sing - the music was loud enough that you can belt out your own version without anyone looking at you funny. The service is spotty - it took me 10 minutes to get my waitress's attention so I could pay the bill. I wouldn't go back there again, but it was an enjoyable stay while I was there.

    It was ok - surprise!

It was better than I had expected. The prices are not bad, the portions were good, a fun place, especially for kids, and they do have some healthy options. Our waitress was lovely, the maitre'd was very pleasant, nicer that a lot of other places I have been in NYC! That said, it is touristy, but that is what it is, it is noisy & crowded, but decent. If you go thinking gourmet, you will be disappointed. Three of 3 ate for $43.00, which included 3 entrees, 1 dessert & 2 beverages, tax & tip.

    Great Atmosphere

Went to New York for a few days Christmas shopping and ate here twice. Thought the food was good, the service was OK, but the atmosphere was fantastic. It's hard to moan about the wait for a coffee refill when your waiter is singing happy birthday to a child in the audience. One girl who was celebrating her 18th birthday was brought to the front of the restaraunt and sat on a bar stool while the waiter sang a love song to her while feeding her cake. Her day was made. Would definitely go back next visit.

    Tourist overload

Taking an 8yr old, on jetlag yet, to Ellens for lunch was a trip. Seating was immediate and the floorshow entertaining. Our waitress, in a poodle skirt and a Mookie nametag, was a smiling delight. My wife's meatloaf was good, but very salty and my rueben OK although nothing special. We shared a chocolate shake, which was excellent. All in all, the experience went smoothly and the food was good if a bit spendy for what you get.

    Fabulous Fun

Been to Ellen's twice.First time -Feb 04 - with my sister and her 2 teen daughters before a show. We had burgers, sandwichesf ries.Food was good. But the best was the atmosphere -Live singing waiters and waitressess-tjust enhanced the whole NYC -Broadway theme! Took my husband there on another trip-spring 05- had snack.Again, food was good, but the shining star is the whole package. We go to city 5-6 times a year and will keep Ellen's in the mix!

    Breakfast at Ellen's Stardust Diner

Just returned from our vacation in NYC. Had breakfast at Ellen's Stardust Diner. We put our order in and ordered coffee. The coffee came without spoons. Asked for spoons, got them 5 mins later - now we have cold coffee! We were a party of 7 and half of us got our meals first and the rest of us got ours later! I knocked over my glass of water and had to wait for a waiter to show up. He finally did and of course took forever to show up with a stack of napkins. He didn't even offer to wipe it up! Once all our meals came we had to ask for the maple syrup. Again, the food was cold by the time the syrup came. There was entertainment during our meal - the waiters singing old tunes. Unfortunately, I think this interferes with the service. It was difficult to get their attention when we needed something (ie more coffee). The food was OK, but I wouldn't go there again. They should concentrate more on the service rather than the entertainment. Needless to say, no tip was left!
