Elizabeth's Neighborhood Table

If you order the fried chicken, make sure it's cooked. We cut one piece open and it was not quite done. We cut another piece open and the middle was raw. The server gasped when shown the chicken and took it away. We switched to the fish and chips, which was just OK.

While waiting for my friend, I sat at the bar- ordered a bottle of water the bartender did did not even offer to open it- when it came to paying the check he assumed all the change was his tip- the table service was great but would recommend giving bartender social skill training.

We have frequented this neighborhood restaurant for convenience and because most ingredients are organic. Unfortunately the quality is extremely inconsistent ranging from wonderful to unappetizing. Definitely overpriced for what it is. Also for claiming to be organic, it is disappointing to come across certain dishes such as the soggy, rubbery egg and cheese croissant that has obviously been micro-waved. Last week, the salmon with quinoa smelled off and the salmon looked like it had been a left over that was reheated. After giving them a lot of business I am afraid we will not be returning since I have too often regretted the amount spent on a mediocre meal. It is too bad because there are times when the same dishes would be quite delicious.....wonder if there are more than one cook.

My family and I had an 8:00 reservation for a special Christmas Eve dinner. A 9:00 seating was also available. We arrived a little early and were seated immediately and the waitress handed us our menus with the declaration:" You should order now because the kitchen is closing". (We wondered if we were still in NYC!)It was pretty much downhill from there. Very expensive, mediocre quality. All of our meals were less than satisfactory, so much so that we did not bother to box the leftovers. We felt rushed and were not even offered a dessert menu. It really took the celebration out of the evening to be at this restaurant which we were hoping was a wonderful addition to our neighborhood. I was not happy to be reminded of it on my credit card statement either; it really took a bite out of my bank account, which would have been fine if there had been anything to savor.

Looking for casual dinner after some shopping on Upper Amsterdam and this was a nice find. Very spacious and clean-homey which one doesn't usually see in that neighborhood. Good cobb salad and excellent fried chicken. Portions are large enough for 2 meals or 2 people. Will go back to try some of the other offerings including dessert.

We used to like this place - but the food has gone downhill. The staff brought the wrong dish, the house salad was as if they dumped a box of lettuce and threw a few tomatoes on it. It will be a long time before we come back.

We saw all the mixed reviews and went there anyway because it was convenient. It turned out to be lovely. Our food was delicious (the special was more expensive than anything on the menu, so if money matters, ask in advance). The service was lovely. It was the first warm day so we could sit outside, which was another plus. The inside was charming as well. Maybe people who get bad service are grumps? We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. Also, although we don't have little kids anymore, it appeared to be a very happy little kid place. The bar looked very comfy. The wine was good, as was the desert.
