Great Food...
I've eaten here a few times; you might find a famous person or two eating here on occasion, (I have). Food is always EXCELLENT, tho I will admit, tables are very close together and its almost always very crowded.

The emperor has no clothes on.
I don't understand what the big deal is. The food is mediocre at best, the tables are right on top of each other and the acoustics are poor (on the plus side, the 2nd avenue subway blasting would probably be inaudible). An overly self-satisfied restaurant for overly self-satisfied people.

Excellent!
Wow! I always heard about Elios on the UES but never went until this last Friday night. This place is is "old school" Italian with authenic italian food as well as the service. We had great server and the food was just the right portion. It was absolutely delicious! if you're a new yorker, you will love it!

Perfect as usual!
I don't understand the poor reviews on Menupages for Elio's either. We dine at Elio's usually a few times a year when we are in the city. We have never had a poor experience. The food is fresh, authentic, and prepared as ordered. The service is attentive, polite and efficient It's a great restaurant!

Excellent food!
I live on the Upp E Side and have eaten at Elio's twice in the past 4 months; it was EXCELLENT both times. I don't care what anyone else writes... this is one of the better Italian restaurants in NYC.

Fabulous!
I love Elio's. When I first went, I was looking at the fantastic menu, and I am a pasta lover, so I picked the Amatriciana, if thats how you spell it. I fell in love with it. Now I have a new favorite meal. And the service was fantastic, too. The waiter I had was so kind. I definitely recommend Elio's. And if you hada poor experience, try it again.

Poor service
My husband and I are in our early thirties and we were clearly the youngest in the restaurant, that typically doesn't bother us. However, our waiter was reading the endless list of specials to every table around us but for us he simply threw menus down and walked away. He never came back to check on us as he did with other tables and we waited forever for the check and to receive my card back. He put his own tip on the check as well. Our meals were good and we saw a few famous faces, however when I go out to dinner as a paying customer, I would like to be treated as such, no matter of my age etc...too many amazing restaurants in the city to waste my time at Elio's again.
