Been here previosly and was satisfied despite the poor location of the table. This time the noise and degree of crowding was even worse; I could not hear my companions sitting across from me. service was spotty at best; had to wait 20 minutes for the check; had to ask of the front desk finally. Was a nice place but too uncomfotable to rate a return this time, despite fairly decent food.

Go for meatballs on Wednesday if possible - also the bbq Octopus is unmatched. The staff treats me like I'm their long lost rich uncle. Passionate people work there - what more could you ask? If they had an apartment in back I'd move in! My favorite place in NY and I've been around.

Food is fine B U T the noise in this place is unbearable. Go there only if you fancy eating in an echo chamber, or inside a big drum.

I have been a regular customer of Elio's for many years. I have had wonderful meals, wonderful service, and wonderful memories. Unfortunately, it's over. I have gone four times this year, and the preparation of dishes that I have had so many times has fallen significantly in quality. I hope that other old customers have complained as well. It was a joy to go there, but unfortunately the food has deteriorated. The service remains warm and friendly. Please fix the problem so I can go back!!

I've eaten here a few times; you might find a famous person or two eating here on occasion, (I have). Food is always EXCELLENT, tho I will admit, tables are very close together and its almost always very crowded.

I don't understand what the big deal is. The food is mediocre at best, the tables are right on top of each other and the acoustics are poor (on the plus side, the 2nd avenue subway blasting would probably be inaudible). An overly self-satisfied restaurant for overly self-satisfied people.

Wow! I always heard about Elios on the UES but never went until this last Friday night. This place is is "old school" Italian with authenic italian food as well as the service. We had great server and the food was just the right portion. It was absolutely delicious! if you're a new yorker, you will love it!
