Eleven Madison Park

For those of us who have refinanced and cashed out a portion of our mortgage, this is a great place to spend some of those extra funds. The setting is elegant but not stuffy, the waiters are attentive, knowledgeable, and not at all condescending, and the food is excellent. Unless you're wealthy or on an expense account, this restaurant is a splurge to be savored on special occasions.

My son was married in a small ceremony at home on Thursday, and the newlyweds chose Eleven Madison Park to celebrate with their guests. The service was attentive, personal and professional; without question the best I have ever had in NYC! The food was beautifully presented and delicious, and was designed to appreciate and enjoy without being "over the top" and demanding attention. None of us will forget the gracious staff of this restaurant and I thank them for making this special occasion perfect!

A group of us came up from Houston to take in some plays and have a great weekend. One of our group selected this restaurant before we saw a play that evening. We arrived around 4:30 and told the server we had to be out by 7:00 pm. Our orders were taken and they served those melt in your mouth cheese rolls and wine. The entrees arrived shortly thereafter and all nine of us loved our meal and even had delicious desserts and coffee.....it was the weekend. We made the play on time! I recommend Eleven on Park to anyone wanting a great dining experience in NYC.

Can this be the same place that so wowed us in September 2003? Who stole the kitchen's imagination? Who hired away those young, thoroughly engaged, gastronomy-or-death servers? Whatever the answer, the magic is gone. Wecome to the Manhattan restaurant business, from whose fickle perfidies even Danny Meyer gets no immunity. He can find the young talents, but he can't keep 'em. The passionate have gone elsewhere. So should you.

I couldn't eat there every night, one because of the prices and two because of the richness of the food but for a special occasion there is none other. I went on my anniversary dinner last night and the service and food were phenominal. The mushroom martini was to die for and the Artic char had flavors that went fabulously with the wine the somelier picked out for us. The best part of the restaurant was not only the chocolate souffle which is sinful but the service. This is not a shishi restaurant that looks snobbily upon first time visitors but a restaurant that invites someone famous who can afford every fine restaurant in the city but also someone who has a special night once a year but lingers because it is so magical. Thanks Eleven Madison Park!!

We had a great dinner at Eleven Madison Park! One of my guests is a vegetarian, and wasn't particularly in the mood for the vegetarian entree, and the kitchen went above and beyond to make something special. I saw the chef walking around greeting guests which I thought was impressive, and the wine list is amazing. I'll definitely go back, especially for special occaisions and when I want to show out of town guests a great "New York" dining experience

Please know that I have never reviewed a restaurant so negatively in a public forum. The group that we regulary eat with is friendly and extremely easy to please. Our server never made eye contact, clearly was not knowledgeable about the dishes and truly had an attitude. For example, appetizers came with cream that she stated did not and vice versa. The food in general was so salty, it was inedible and the portions were disgracefully small and two of the main courses were not even warm, never mind hot. If it were not for dessert, we would have left hungry. The dessert was good, not terrific. The cookie tray had rice krispy treats! Not what I would expect from a restaurant with this reputation and price tag......Drop your cash at another restaurant.
