El Viejo Yayo is a mediocre and VERY pricey Latin restaurant. For the price you pay here you should take a cab and go to a hole in the wall Latin restaurant in Sunset Park and pay 1/4 of the price.

Food is so delicious. Could use a little more lighting so you can read the menu. Staff is very friendly weather you speak Spanish or not.

I went to this place with my girlfriend, figured we'd try something new. It sucked, the food was passable at best, the service atrocious and the atmosphere, was non-existent. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

This restaurant is extremely family enviroment. The food es delicious and the staff are very pleasants.
If you want to have an evening of relaxation, just come to El Viejo Yayo, and you'll have a taste of the caribbean.

I visited El Viejo Yayo with someone recently, and we both fell in love with the place. The waitstaff was both friendly and helpful. We started off by snacking on tostones and maduros. Then we both ordered Yayo steaks (mine was the Cubano). The steaks
