Downhill every year
My husband and i have been going to this restaurant for over 15 years. We like that it's wheelchair friendly (our daughter uses a wheelchair). However, on our most recent visits the service and food has been going downhill. Lets start with the bread they serve. Before they used to toast it with a garlic butter. Now its not even toasted and with butter packet on the sides, why bother? The drinks came after the main courses and we had to remind them 2 times to bring them! Next, the entrees used to come with a side salad. They stopped doing that and didnt bother telling anyone. So i was stuck with a steak (which i ordered medium well and it came well done) and no salad. And finally, while we were fully engaged havimg our meals, one of the waitresses came and takes our condiment tray! That was my limit! There were like 50 other empty tables and u take the condiment tray from a table with 6 people in the middle of their dinner! I will not be going there anytime soon. Poor standards for park slope. Im sure there are other wheelchair accessible restaurants in the area.

Way too expensive for everyday food
Had dinner here on June 9, 2012 with my family. Beautiful looking restaurant but prices are way too high and the food is nothing to remember. It's the same latin food that you can get from any latin restaurant except here it doesn't taste all that good and your paying literally double for it. They have a lot of staff but no one stood out as far as service was concerned. They act like they don't need to go out of their way to please a customer. I will never return and I definitely don't recommend this place to anyone unless you want to broke and on top of that still hungry because their portions on not that big.

Hats off to El Viejo!
I have to give this restaurant top honors for the quality , food and service. I recently had a family get together here for 20 people and everyone was pleased. They have an extensive menu....even the pickiest person will find something ! The yayo steak was sooo tasty. The portions are huge, be ready to take home food for the next day. This restaurant has everything you're looking for: good food, atmosphere, reasonable prices and quality service.

the truth
first of all there are many yayos but there is only one original and is located at: 36 and 5th ave bet dean bergen. this is the best of all Yayos. Has the best customer service and cleanliness at all. I advise you to go there and you'll like.

Great chicken
I tried the 1/2 chicken with rice n beans, maduros, and sliced avocado. the chicken is seasoned really well and just falls off the bone.. loved it! Pretty simple place , next time i'll try something different.
