    the truth

first of all there are many yayos but there is only one original and is located at: 36 and 5th ave bet dean bergen. this is the best of all Yayos. Has the best customer service and cleanliness at all. I advise you to go there and you'll like.

    Great chicken

I tried the 1/2 chicken with rice n beans, maduros, and sliced avocado. the chicken is seasoned really well and just falls off the bone.. loved it! Pretty simple place , next time i'll try something different.

    Completely recommend

Don't let the hugeness of this place scare you away! The menu is extensive and the food is really good, at a great value. I got an enormous plate of BBQ chicken, fries, and salad for $11. If you're sick of pretentious, organic Park Slope restaurants, wall-to-wall with hipsters, go here for a nice hearty plate of genuinely good food.

    Consistent good food!

I've been eating there for years and my experience is consistently really good food. The baked chicken is finger lickin good! The carne guisa is delicious and the steak & onions is tasty too and the maduros are always muy maduros...Mmmmm! My only problem is that they seem to always run out of the red kidney beans which are my favorite! We have had several of our family functions there and everyone is always satisfied with the food and service. I absolutely recommend it. Enjoy!

    Good.

Whoever complains about large food portions must be crazy. It is a Latino restaurant and incase you did not know, us Latinos love to see lots of food on our tables, so this is authentic latin food. (And I'm not fat) If you want to get ripped off with a small portion, head out to the city where there are tons of fake-latino restaurants. The prices are reasonable and its a super casual restaurant nothing elegant or chic but friendly and good. I've been going to this restaurant for years and am always satisfied. The service by the staff is basic nothing special but they are not mean. Their desserts are not that good, but the food is good.
