Best
Where to begin.. Everything is fresh, prepared on site. Portions are huge! Their chorizo tacos and huaraches gigante are incredible. Sandwiches are fabulous. Guacamole is $$$, but worth it. Their tomatillo sauces vary in intensity-incredibly good. Chips are sturdy, if a little oily, but great! They do a lot of take out/delivery, so afternoon and dinner are busy. Half a star loss for atmosphere (it is a hole in the wall place with 5-6 tables for 2) not because of the size or location, but the jukebox is set to an agonizingly loud volume, and when someone gets the urge for music - just ask them to turn it down, they usually will. The in house service is fairly quick, but like I said, lots of take out orders...the girls that serve the tables are very sweet. I live close by, (but they don't deliver here) so I call in an order and give them about 1/2 hour before I show up. We are always happily stuffed by the end of our meal, and you cannot beat the quality, not the prices. If you are considering a truly good Mexican meal and are on the UWS, skip the poor quality/overpriced places in the 80s, 90s, and hop on the 1 train to City College stop. It is just up the street! I cannot recommend their food enough!
