    It's only okay...

Although my salad was fresh, the grilled steak pieces were bland and tasteless. The sauce that came with the chips was okay. The guacamole was thick and creamy, and the chips were fresh and crispy. My Margarita tasted more like lemon juice. You will probably find the food in this restaurant is "okay" compared to most of the other restaurants in the midtown area. If you want good Mexican food, leave the midtown area. The area is a tourist trap, overpriced and the food quality in most of the restaurants is poor.

    Chimichangas realy good

The 2 story resturant has great service and atmosphere, the food was excellent and has an urban upscale relaxed feel, dos equis and coronas all night

Sometimes those random fliers you get pays off!

I was in NY with two friends from Poland and besides doing all the typical NY touristy things, they wanted to try lots of different cuisines. Luckily, we got stopped twice for fliers advertising for Tequilazo and while I usually ignore fliers like these, I remember passing this restaurant on 46th on my way to 5th and I thought the menu looked decent. So we decided to give it a try and it was definitely the right thing to do. One of my friends had the chicken chimichangas, and the other had the arroz con pollo, and they both were extremely happy with their choices (especially since it was not familiar with them). I had the steak fajitas, which were amazing--tender juicy meat and loads of green and red peppers and the onions were abundant (which is good coz I love onions) on a sizzling plate, along with a tons of guacamole (totally homemade, with chunks of avocado left unmashed) and sour cream and pico de gallo with yummy cilantro and oh four warm tortillas. My fajitas serving was huge and I had one tortilla left over, so I filled with it with my remaining steak-onion-pepper-guacamole-picodegallo-sour cream mix, had it to wrapped it up, ate it cold for breakfast the next morning and it was still fabulous. If it'sn a day-old and cold and still delicious the next day, you know it's good food. We also had margaritas and they were delicious and strong--you can taste the tequila! I would definitely go back to Tequilazo over and over again! I've already told everyone I know about my serendipitious (is that even a word?) discovery and are so glad that there are good Mexican-Columbian restaurants in the East coast.

    Great Latin Restaurant!

It is difficult to find restaurants that can make the real deal when it comes to Latin dishes. El Tequilazo is certainly one of them. With big plasmas by the bar, the latest music always on and very friendly bar and wait staff, your waiting time will be as enjoyable as the food is delicious. Even the chips & dip you get while your order is being made are amazing. You will not be disappointed at this great restaurant in mid-Manhattan.

    Excellent

I've tried to find an authentic Mexican restaurant and this is it. The enchildas Suizas are the best I've had in NYC. I will be back again.

    Mexican food, Latin music

I visit this restaurant a few times each year and never disappointed. The Mexican food is authentic and very flavourful, the margaritas. oh so good and the music and dancing Friday nights is hard to beat. A litte too crowed but ok if you don't mind crowds

    Bad food......Great ambiance!!!

I have been there many times with friends and we have definitely enjoyed the music and drinks. The food is extremely overprized and not tasty at all, not worth it. To top it off, the service is not always the best, unfriendly. So, if you are looking to have a few drinks, munch on something quick and listen to a good variety of music, then, this place will do just fine.
