Never again
I stopped in here with a friend who said it always looked packed. We sat down and chips & "salsa" were placed on the table. The salsa was missing actual salsa - no tomato chunks, onions - and was just a warm red liquid. Prices were fairly high. Atmosphere was non-existent. The food on the surrounding tables did not look appetizing. We decided to leave and go across the street. Best. Idea. Ever. On the way out the door, the waitress ran after us to collect $3.00 for the 5 (almost stale) chips we ate while reading the menu. We were being charged for the chips & salsa she brought us unprovoked. I will never be going back here. Food was unappealing. Cleanliness was questionable. Staff was inattentive.

Poor service, crazy prices
Our waitress seemed annoyed that she had to seat us, the enchiladas were mediocre and they had the gall to charge $35 for a small pitcher of margaritas.

A nightmare dining experience!!
Service was poor. our waitress forgot the drink order, did not give water upon arrival nor later until we begged, was chatting it up with friends and ignoring us. (wasn't a busy night) Food was absolutely dreadful! No salt, no seasonings. Veggie food was just frozen vegetables from a bag served with dried out beans. Not authentic mexican.

in my top 10 of new york food, and my top five on the the lower east side. filling food, good prices, kick*** frozen margarita, stellar service! what more could you ask for? the best pickled jalepenos i've ever tasted? you got it! they make the food as spicy or bland as you want it, and man is it good spicy.

This is my new favorite mexican
I love this place! Went here Saturday night for margaritas and food. It was great, best dive bar mexican and the food was good! Good music also. I will definitely be returning.

Food and service fail
Granted, it's not fancy, but at least they can make up for it with the food and service. They fail miserably in both regards. I ordered chicken fajitas. The chicken was fatty pieces of dark meat (unsuitable for fajitas) and the peppers and onions were way overcooked. Service was spotty and slow. Avoid this place!

One of my favorite places!
As was said before, if you want fancy.... go to a fancy place!! This is the best place for chips, salsa and margaritas! By far! My friends and I usually meet up there before going out- to get a good buzz on and make sure to have some food in our tummies! SOOO good.
