Am so happy I discovered this restaurant

The food here is fantastic. The drinks are great too. If you're in the city and can make a stop, I defintiely recommend it.

    Good Tex-Mex in NYC

I too am from the Texas and El Rio Grande is the best Tex-Mex in Manhattan that I have found. The assorted salsas actually have some heat to them. It is a bit pricey (for Tex-Mex) but hey, it's NYC.

    Great Tex-Mex!!

I am from Texas, and by far this is the best tex-mex I have found in the city thus far! Authentic mexican food! Great Enchaladas and Queso! Good service and margaritas!! If you miss mexican food as much as I do... you HAVE to go to this place!!

    Great place, highly recommended

I've eaten here several times and really like it. Great margaritas and excellent guacomole. The service is usually very good except one time a waiter gave me the finger behind my back. I asked him for more chips and I guess he wasn't our waiter. My friend told the matre'd and I didn't see that guy the rest of the night. Besides that one episode which was actually quite funny because I was three drinks in, the place is very good and worth checking out. When I want mexican, I go here.

    No thanks

Where to begin with this "restaurant"? - The hostess was not ready to help us when we got there, and threw us in a table meant for 6 even though we were 7. -Someone in our party asked a waitress if they had soft and hard shell tacos, and she gruffly said "Both". When our real waiter came to take our order, he said they didn't have any hard tacos, and he had an attitude about it. -I asked for a pitcher of water for the table, and the waitress said "We don't do that" and walked away, but we got our pitcher eventually. -Service was sporadic at best. The waiters did not care at all about service and talked amongst themselves. -The food was just not good. Literally, Trader Joe's frozen enchiladas tasted better than the "fresh" food they made here. My enchiladas had no taste and the beans were obviously out of a can, but the rice was actually ok. -Someone in our party ordered a salad (with no onions), and it did not come out with everyone else's food. The waiter forgot to put it on the check, and it finally came out later covered in onions. -We had to ask a few times for the check, and the waiter never said Thank you. -This place is way too expensive. It is not even close to being worth what the prices ask for.

best steak Nachos in the US...and Mexico

went here last night for a few of their rocket fuel Margheritas(which are muis bueno, by the way). Started to get a little peckish so I decided on the steak nachos as a quick appy. WELL...let me tell you. BEST DECISION OF MY LIFE! i ate a large oder to the face. picture this: a finely cooked filet diced and place on individual nachos, smothered in cheesy quac goodness. soo baller!
